Our Labor Day platelet schedule we still has16 appointments available on Monday, September 7 at our Northside donor center.

Patients don’t get a holiday from needing platelets, and every appointment we fill helps us be ready for the patients counting on us. ❤️

This Labor Day, Atlanta Blood Services is looking for just 23 lifesaving platelet donors to help us fill every appointment at our Northside donor center.

Our Marietta/Cobb donor center will be closed for the holiday, but our Northside team will be here and ready to welcome you!

Atlanta Blood Services recently celebrated an incredible milestone: Ken Lade’s 300th platelet donation. 🩸❤️

300 donations represent countless hours in the donor chair, an extraordinary commitment to patients in need, and a legacy of generosity that has made a lasting difference in the lives of others.

We also had the privilege of making this milestone especially meaningful by honoring the memory of Ken’s late wife, Sharon “Sherry” Lade. Sherry was one of Ken’s biggest supporters and was often by his side at events celebrating donors and the lifesaving impact of platelet donation. On the day of Ken’s 300th donation, we dedicated a plant in Sherry’s memory as a living tribute to the love, encouragement, and support she gave Ken throughout his remarkable donor journey. 🌿

Ken’s story is a beautiful reminder that the impact of giving extends beyond the person in the donor chair. Behind so many dedicated donors are family members and loved ones who encourage them, support them, and share in the commitment to helping others.

Congratulations, Ken, on 300 platelet donations. Thank you for your extraordinary dedication to our patients, and thank you, Sherry, for being such an important part of this remarkable journey. ❤️
