Compassion Knows No Borders 🌎🩸

Carmen and Martin traveled from Argentina to the United States for a wedding — and on their way home, they had a layover in Atlanta.

That layover became something much more meaningful.

Atlanta is home to their distant relative, Keegan, a young man currently in need of platelet support. So before catching their red-eye flight back home, Carmen and Martin made time for a two-hour stop at Atlanta Blood Services to donate platelets on behalf of Keegan.

To them, it simply made sense.

Platelet Donor Spotlight: Marc — 150 Platelet Donations
Marc began his journey as a platelet donor due to his wife. She’s an educator, and one of her students came to her, asking for help: one of their family members needed platelets. Although Marc’s wife couldn’t donate, Marc could! He made his first donation on November 9th, 2013. On May 14th, 2026, he reached an impressive milestone with his 150th platelet donation – and he’s not stopping now! Marc says that his current goal is to reach 250 donations, and he doesn’t plan on stopping after that.
As a father of three, Marc is a compassionate and enthusiastic person who is passionate about giving back to the community. When asked about why he donates, Marc said, “The joy I get [from helping others] is priceless.” That energy continues to be a gift to local Blood & Marrow Transplant Group of Georgia patients by supporting access to lifesaving platelet transfusions and helping educate others about why platelet donation matters.
