It's only fitting that right before World Blood Donor Day, we were honored to celebrate Mike’s incredible 200th platelet donation! 🩸👏

Platelet Donor Spotlight: Nathan — 250 Platelet Donations! 🩸👏

When “T,” a pediatric brain cancer patient, came into Nathan’s life, he asked Nathan if he donated platelets.

Nathan’s answer was simple: “No, but I will start.”

That “yes” was the beginning of something incredible. Nathan made his first platelet donation in January 2015, and just over a decade later, he has reached an amazing milestone: 250 platelet donations with Atlanta Blood Services!

In honor of Nathan and T, class is in session: Platelet Edition. 🩸

🩸 Platelets help prevent and control bleeding.
⏳ Platelets have a short shelf life — only 5 days — so the need for donors is constant.
🏥 Patients undergoing cancer treatment, leukemia treatment, and bone marrow transplant often rely on platelet transfusions as part of their care.
