We offer prenatal visits and postpartum visits to support your feeding goals, your first visit can last up to two hours as we get to know more about you, your baby, your goals, and develop a personalized care plan.

We’re starting a mom’s support group.

Between the two of us (pelvic floor PT + lactation consultant), we’ve seen how isolating pregnancy and postpartum can feel.

So we’re creating a space where you can show up exactly as you are.

Skin to skin is simple, it is putting a mostly bare baby (diaper only) against the chest of the parent. Skin to skin can be done any time from moments after birth to the days and weeks that follow. Skin to skin can calm a fussy baby, soothe a frustrated toddler, or provide comfort when your little one is sick.

Knowing your baby's stomach size is important to know so you can determine how much the baby needs to intake in each feeding. Day one the baby stomach is around the size of a cherry. The baby will want to be fed more frequently in small quantities. Day 3 the baby's stomach has grown into a size of a walnut. One week the baby's stomach is the size of an apricot. In one month, the baby's stomach is the size of a large egg. The baby will be fed less frequently and in larger quantities. As your baby grows the intake and frequencies will change. Talk to your healthcare provider or IBCLC (Internationally Board-Certified Lactation Consultant) to know how much and how frequently your baby should be feeding for their age and stomach size.

November is Prematurity Awareness Month with World Prematurity Day celebrated on November 17th each year.
In observance of this day, LCA wanted to take the time to recognize all families who have had a premature birth. Prematurity accounts for one in 10 births world wide each year.
Families, we recognize the challenges that a preterm birth brings. We hope that you will join us in raising awareness in the specialized care and commitment that preterm babies may need.
