I have a few people lately reach out and ask about acid reflux aka heartburn. First off you need to read the book "Why Stomach Acid is Good For You" by Jonathan V Wright MD & Lane Lenard PhD.

🌱 Let’s Talk About Proton Pump Inhibitors (PPIs) 🌱

You’ve probably heard of them—Omeprazole, Nexium, Prevacid…
They’re commonly prescribed to “manage” acid reflux, GERD, ulcers, and more. Did you know they are designed for short-term use (usually 4-8 weeks), many people end up taking them for years without being told about the long-term risks.

⚠️ Here’s what long-term use can lead to:

Nutrient deficiencies (especially B12, magnesium, calcium)
Increased risk of bone fractures
Greater risk of gut infections
Potential kidney damage
Disruption of your gut microbiome (hello bloating, gas, fatigue, and food sensitivities)
Leaky Gut
Decreases stomach acid

🚨 These medications reduce stomach acid—but stomach acid isn’t the enemy. It’s actually essential for digestion, nutrient absorption, and keeping harmful bacteria in check. The problem often isn’t too much acid… it’s acid in the wrong place.
✨ Getting to the root cause is the real game-changer.
Whether it’s low stomach acid, bacterial overgrowth, stress, or food sensitivities—healing the body starts with understanding why symptoms are showing up in the first place.
But here’s the truth not enough people talk about…
➡️ Healing takes time.
It’s not a straight line. It’s messy, beautiful, and unique to YOU.
There’s no one-size-fits-all timeline, and that’s okay.
If you’ve been stuck in the cycle of symptom management and are ready to work with your body instead of against it… there is a way forward. 💛
Your body was designed to heal. Let’s start listening to it. Contact me if you are ready to start your healing journey!!

A CGM (Continuous Glucose Monitor) is helpful is you are a diabetic, but not so helpful if you are insulin resistant. Insulin resistance is connected to SO MANY systems in your body. Its a master hormone. Systems/conditions it connects to:

1.Thyroid
2.Sex Hormones/PMOS (PCOS)
3.Cardiovascular/Cholesterol
4. Blood Pressure
5. Inflammation
6. Fatty Liver (non alcoholic)
7. Adrenal/Cortisol
8. Weight gain
9. Fertility
10. Cognitive Health (think type 3 diabetes/dementia)
11. Skin conditions

If your weight is stuck and you are insulin resistant, your CGM may be giving you a false sense of security.

Here is why. If you are insulin resistant your body is STILL pumping out insulin to keep your glucose numbers looking controlled. So your CGM readings can look perfectly fine — totally normal — while insulin resistance is quietly building underneath the surface for years.
The glucose is being managed. But your body is working OVERTIME to do it. And that chronic insulin elevation is keeping you locked in fat storage mode no matter how clean you eat.
Your glucose looking stable does not mean your metabolism is healthy. So if you eat sugar or anything that breaks down into sugar like bread or pasta- that will spike your glucose and insulin will come to the rescue and bring it back down.
So what actually tells you if you are burning fat? 👇
A ketone monitor.
Ketones tell you when you have burned through your glycogen stores- glycogen is excess glucose used for energy that is stored in your muscle. Your body has ACTUALLY switched into fat burning mode when the glucose is used and starts producing ketones. That is the information that matters for weight loss. Not just whether glucose is controlled — but whether you are genuinely accessing your own fat stores for fuel.
No ketones showing up? Your body is still running on sugar. And until that switches — the fat is staying put.
But here is what I really want to get to — because this is where most people are missing the biggest piece
Before I look start chasing symptoms, I start with two things. HTMA and functional bloodwork.

And here is why BOTH matter before anything else 👇
🩸 Functional Bloodwork shows me what is circulating in your body. I am looking at your fasting insulin, your HOMA-IR, your thyroid panel, your liver markers, your inflammation levels, and your nutrient status. Standard labs interpreted conventionally will tell you everything is fine. Functional interpretation tells me where your body is quietly struggling before it becomes a diagnosis. There is a massive difference between not sick and truly optimized — and that gap is exactly where most of my clients are living.

🔬 HTMA then shows me what is happening at the CELLULAR level that bloodwork simply cannot see. — your mineral patterns, your adrenal stress ratios, your thyroid ratio, your cortisol output. No guessing. No chasing symptoms. Just clear clinical data pointing us straight to the root.

This is the work I do at Sol Natural Health. I’ll find YOUR upstream. I can build YOUR roadmap. And I give your body exactly what it needs to actually heal — not just manage.

If you are done guessing and ready for real answers — send me a message. Let’s find your root.

Want to know what it is like to work with me?

If you are tired of being tired… frustrated that your body isn’t responding the way it used to… or sensing deep down that something is off even though your labs keep coming back normal or slightly off that they just say "lets keep an eye on it" But you know your body is screaming at you something is wrong! So many women find themselves in this place, doing their best, juggling life, and still wondering why their body feels out of sync.
Maybe you’re feeling stuck. Maybe your symptoms are slowly getting worse instead of better. Maybe you’re scared of where things are heading and the last thing you want is to end up on medication, increasing your dose or add another one. Maybe you just want to feel like yourself again — energized, balanced, confident in your health.

That’s exactly why I do what I do.

When someone works with me, we start with a deep dive into your health story. My intake forms map out imbalances across your whole body — blood sugar, thyroid, adrenals, minerals, immune function, digestion (upper and lower), and more. You’d be amazed how validating it is to finally see on paper what you’ve been feeling for years.
I also use functional lab testing, which gives us real clarity instead of guessing. I look at everything through a functional lens — not just “is this in range?” I see patterns, ratios, look how the body is communicating with itself When there is an imbalance we need to find out WHY, what is misfiring, what is not getting supported? I put my detective hat on an get to work!
From there, I create a personalized plan to begin correcting imbalances at the cellular level so your body can finally start moving in the right direction again. You’ll always know what we’re doing and why. I offer 1:1 individualized care with different package levels, so you get support that fits your goals, your pace, and your life.
If you’re tired of feeling unheard, overwhelmed, or not like yourself… just know this: you’re not alone, and you don’t have to stay stuck. You deserve to feel good again. Stop procrastinating and message me!!

Your Doctor Is Just Throwing Levothyroxine at the Problem

Levothyroxine is T4. That’s it.

T4 isn’t the active hormone your cells ACTUALLY use. Your body has to convert it to T3. Then transport it into cells. Then activate it.

For most people, that conversion fails.

So what does your doctor do? Sees TSH is high. Increases levothyroxine. Then increases it again. And again.

Meanwhile, you’re still exhausted, still cold, still constipated, still gaining weight, still losing hair.

Your labs “look better” but you feel terrible.

Here’s the question nobody asks: What if the problem was never a lack of T4?

What if T4 to T3 conversion is broken? What if T3 isn’t getting into cells? What if inflammation, nutrient deficiencies, stress, or gut dysbiosis are blocking activation?

Your gut is critical here. Poor gut health means poor nutrient absorption (you need selenium, zinc, iron for conversion). Dysbiosis means inflammation blocking T3 activation. Leaky gut means autoimmunity attacking your thyroid.

If the problem is anywhere downstream of T4, why would more T4 solve it?

I run a full thyroid panel. Free T3, Free T4, Reverse T3, TPO antibodies. My HTMA shows mineral status. I assess gut health.

Then I ask the real questions: Why did your thyroid slow down? Why is conversion impaired? Is your gut inflamed? Are you absorbing nutrients?

That’s how you actually fix it.

Not by increasing medication and hoping physiology cooperates.

Message me. Let’s look at your full picture and actually address what’s broken.

Testosterone: Low, High, and Why It’s Rarely the Real Problem (Men & Women)

One of the most common patterns I see isn’t low testosterone — it’s high SHBG (s*x hormone-binding globulin).

Your total testosterone can look “normal” on paper, but your free testosterone — the portion your cells can actually use — is locked away, bound up and unusable. Like money in a safe: technically yours, but you can’t spend it.

High SHBG = less usable testosterone. Low SHBG = more.

The biggest driver I see over and over: chronic under-fueling. Years of dieting, fasting, or low-carb eating while training hard and running on stress hormones. Your body isn’t stupid — when it senses energy scarcity, reproduction and muscle-building stop being priorities.

Here’s the physiology: SHBG is made in the liver, which helps regulate how much s*x hormone circulates freely. When energy intake (especially carbs) is chronically low, SHBG rises. More SHBG means less free testosterone to do its job — showing up as low libido, poor recovery, fatigue, depression, brain fog, and low motivation.

You likely don’t need testosterone therapy. You need to stop telling your liver and endocrine system that food is scarce.

Now the opposite extreme: women with PCOS often have low SHBG. Chronically high insulin suppresses the liver’s SHBG production, so more testosterone stays free and active — driving symptoms like excess facial hair, acne, scalp thinning, and irregular cycles.

Two opposite metabolic problems — under-fueling vs. insulin resistance — both route through the same organ: the liver.

This is why I keep saying: stop chasing individual hormones. Ask why the liver is making the SHBG it’s making. Ask why insulin is high, or why metabolism has slowed.

Hormones aren’t usually the root cause — they’re the report card.

Your labs tell the story long before your symptoms become impossible to ignore.

Your Gut Is a Living Ecosystem (And You’re Starving It)

Your gut isn’t just about digestion. It’s a living ecosystem of trillions of microbes.

Right now, you’re probably feeding it corpses—ultra-processed food with zero living bacteria.

Your microbiome is dying. And so is everything downstream.

Here’s what living microbes actually do:

They colonize your gut. They produce metabolites (short-chain fatty acids). These metabolites send chemical signals through your bloodstream that reduce inflammation everywhere—your brain, your joints, your immune system, your hormones.

A healthy microbiome = lower inflammation = better mood, better energy, better hormone balance, better digestion, better immunity.

A dead microbiome = chronic inflammation = brain fog, fatigue, hormone chaos, autoimmune issues, skin problems.

Fermented foods are the answer.

Sauerkraut, kimchi, kombucha, kefir, miso, tempeh—these aren’t trendy. They’re medicine.

Real fermented foods (not the pasteurized garbage at the store) contain living bacteria that actually colonize your gut and rebuild your microbiome.

One serving of fermented food daily changes your terrain.

Not supplements. Not probiotics in a bottle. Real, living fermented foods.

Your body is begging for this. Start feeding it something that takes root.

Add fermented foods to every meal. Watch what happens to your energy, digestion, mood, and hormones.

This is foundational work. This is where health actually starts.

One of the most common things I see in women is dysregulated cortisol or high cortisol.

High cortisol doesn't just affect your stress levels it can impact your sleep, hormones, metabolism, mood, and overall health. The good news? Your body responds to simple daily habits more than extreme fixes.

This is especially true if you have PCOS where cortisol can be elevated in response to metabolic stress.

Also if you have thyroid issues as cortisol is elevated early as the body tries to compensate for metabolic stress and chronic stress can suppress TSH and impair conversion of T4 → T3.

The fix….

1. Morning Sunlight Exposure
2. Walk Outside After Meals
3. Spend Time In Nature
4. Spend 5-10 Mins Barefoot on Grass, Soil or Sand Each Day
5. Practice Nasal Breathing Each Day
6. Prioritize Restorative Sleep. Earlier the Better (Before 10pm is Ideal)
7. Hydrate Well with Electrolytes
8. Eat 30-50+ Grams of Protein in Each Meal
9. Reduce Stressful News, Social Media and Toxic Conversations. Stop Doom Scrolling!
10. Watch Sunset and Reduce Blue Light Exposure After Dark

Supplements…

Magnesium glycinate: Helps regulate stress response

Omega 3: Lowers systemic inflammation

L-theanine: Smooths cortisol spikes from stress/caffeine

Phosphatidylserine: One of the few supplements shown to blunt cortisol response to stress

Glycine: Helps sleep and helps calm sympathetic overdrive

Seriously the news has an agenda and can persuade you way too easy. Dont fall for it!!

One day it’s, “Don’t eat this.”
The next day it’s, “Actually…we’re not sure.”

This is exactly why I don’t panic about any headlines. Actually I don’t watch the news and I usually don’t bait click most articles. Health related gets almost every time haha.

Every week there’s a new scare, a new parasite, a new virus. Stay informed, but don’t let fear drive your decisions. Early reports change as investigations continue.

Here’s what I know from years of practice:

Parasites, bacteria, viruses, mold, toxins—they’re all real. But the question isn’t “How do I avoid every exposure?” That’s impossible.

The real question is: “How do I build a body resilient enough to handle what comes?”

That’s terrain theory.

Your immune system, nutrient status, gut health, detoxification pathways, sleep, and metabolic health determine how your body responds to the world around you. You can’t eliminate every risk. But you can build a body that adapts and recovers.

My job isn’t to scare you. It’s to help you understand your body, ask better questions, and stop guessing.

I focus on foundations: digestion, blood sugar, minerals, sleep, stress management. When those are solid, your body handles exposure way better.

Awareness over anxiety. Education over panic. Resilience over fear.

Find a practitioner you trust. Learn how your body works. Build health from the ground up.

Parasites Aren’t Just Explosive Diarrhea

Everyone’s talking about parasites now like it’s a new “outbreak”. But most people with parasitic imbalances don’t have that symptom at all.

Instead, they deal with:

• Bloating
• Gas
• Constipation or diarrhea
• IBS symptoms
• Food sensitivities
• Sugar cravings
• Fatigue
• Brain fog
• Anxiety
• Irritability
• Poor sleep
• Teeth grinding
• Skin issues (eczema, acne, hives, rashes)
• Histamine intolerance
• Seasonal allergies
• Joint and muscle pain
• Headaches
• Iron deficiency
• Vitamin and mineral deficiencies
• Low immunity
• Frequent illness
• Chronic inflammation
• Autoimmune challenges
• Hormone imbalances
• Weight loss resistance
• A**l itching
• Itchy skin

Sound familiar?

Here’s what I know: Don’t buy a random parasite cleanse online and hope it works.

Different parasites require different approaches. Biofilms need addressing. Drainage pathways need support. Random cleanses can make things worse.

If you’ve been dealing with symptoms nobody can explain, it’s time to ask different questions.

Your symptoms are trying to tell you something.

Message me. Let’s test instead of guess.

Stop Chasing the Wrong Thing

You’re obsessed with the number on the scale.

But the scale can’t tell you if your insulin is improving, if your thyroid is working, or if your inflammation is dropping. Five pounds down might mean muscle loss. Five pounds up might mean restored hormones and a healthier metabolism.

You’re chasing weight loss. You should be chasing metabolic health.

Here’s what actually matters:

Your fasting insulin (not just glucose). Your ferritin levels. Your thyroid function. Your inflammation markers. Your energy production.

When your body is metabolically healthy—good sleep, balanced hormones, resilient mitochondria, low inflammation, fat loss happens naturally. You’re not forcing it. Your body just works better.

You’re chasing harder workouts. You should be chasing better recovery.

Exercise is the stimulus. Recovery is where the magic happens. If you’re exhausted all the time, you’re just accumulating stress, not building health.

You’re chasing supplements. You should be chasing physiology.

No powder replaces good sleep, real food, insulin sensitivity, and thyroid function.

Stop silencing the alarm. Start asking why it went off.

Hair loss? Fatigue? Brain fog? Weight gain? These aren’t problems. They’re signals your body is struggling somewhere.

I help you find the actual fire, not just put out the smoke.

Message me. Let’s run your HTMA and bloodwork, see what’s really broken, and build actual metabolic health.

The rest follows naturally.
