Basic industry standards and ethical practices… let’s talk.
Now I’m far from perfect and have made my share of mistakes in my piercing career, but learning from those mistakes and always trying to improve are what sets that apart from shops that are staffing uneducated, under qualified piercers, using substandard jewelry and materials, and charging $20/piercing while claiming to be “professional”. I just removed this cheap jewelry from someone’s fresh Medusa piercing. Not only is this type of jewelry wildly inappropriate for that piercing, it was severely crooked. And the more the client told me the worse it got (no cleaning/prep on the inside of the mouth 😳). The pain this piercing caused plus the additional cost of eventually having it repierced PLUS the disappointment the client felt is not worth $20 folks. Yes, clients have a responsibility to know who is piercing them, but ultimately this is on the piercer and the shop. If you represent yourself as a professional and then do s**t like this… shame on you.
