Something has been stirring in my heart for a while now, and I finally feel like it's time. 🎉
Many of you know me as Sandy — the medical assistant, the functional nutrition counselor, the one who is always researching ingredients and asking questions about everything that goes into her body. 😄 But many of you also know that my passion for getting to the root of health issues didn't start in a classroom. It started at home — as a mom watching my daughter struggle with serious health challenges from the time she was just 4 years old. For years I was that mom in the trenches — researching at 2am, chasing answers that conventional medicine couldn't always give me, fighting for my child's health with everything I had. That journey is what led me deeper into functional medicine and nutrition, and it shaped everything about how I approach health today.
What some of you may not know is that while I was pouring everything into caring for Abby and researching breakthroughs for her, my own health was quietly unraveling behind the scenes.
For years I was exhausted. Not just tired — bone-tired. The kind where you wake up after a full night of sleep and still feel like you haven't slept at all. Brain fog so thick I would walk into a room and forget why I was there. Weight that kept creeping up no matter what I did — and absolutely refused to budge. Hormones that felt completely out of control. And then perimenopause hit — and everything that was already hard took a sharp decline. The fatigue got heavier. The brain fog got worse. The weight dug in even deeper. My body felt like it was working against me at every turn, and no matter what I tried, I could not get ahead of it.
I had the knowledge. I had the training. And yet I still felt like something wasn't clicking.
Over the past year, everything has started to come together. Through functional nutrition principles, intentional lifestyle changes, and adding something special into my routine — I have lost 30 pounds so far and I am still on this journey. Metabolic dysfunction that had taken over my body is reversed, and for the first time in years I feel like MYSELF again. My husband tells me he feels like he has me back. And my daughter — she doesn't even remember me like this. She was too young to know the energetic, strong woman I once was. Watching her see that woman emerge has been one of the greatest gifts of this whole journey. And what a testimony it has been for her — having her involved in this healing process, watching her learn firsthand how these simple lifestyle changes matter not just for me, but for her own health and wellbeing too. That is a gift I never expected, and one I will never take for granted. ❤️
I don't want to just post about this in passing. I want to actually walk alongside you the way I wish someone had walked alongside me.
So I'm launching a private community called The RENEW Collective: Faith-Based Wellness for Women — a space where I'll be sharing the lifestyle habits, the nutrition principles, what I've learned about natural oral peptides, faith-centered encouragement, and everything that has made a real difference for me. No fluff. No overwhelm. Just real, practical, faith-rooted wellness that works.
