🎉 HERE WE GO… ROUND 2!! 🎉

Y’all loved our first Parent Workshop, so we’re back for round 2! 🙌🏼

This time, we’re diving into ALL THINGS SENSORY! 👀🌀🤲🏼

We’ll talk about tactile, vestibular, and proprioceptive input, how sensory needs can show up as behaviors, how to accommodate your child’s aversions, and how to help your kiddos safely meet their sensory needs.

✨ Because sometimes, what looks like a behavior problem is actually a child trying to tell us something.

Our goal? To help you better understand your child, recognize what their body might be communicating, and walk away with practical strategies you can actually use at home!

Why are sensory kiddos so controlling? Actually- it’s a technique they’re using to compensate for feeling so out-of-control internally ❤️‍🩹 Understanding why kids NEED to feel in control can helps us have more compassion in our responses to them! Two other areas kids will hyper-seek control: pottying & play. 🚽🧸

Yesterday, I had the honor of speaking to second year speech grad students at Auburn University! I was able to talk about how to help kiddos get regulated during sessions so they can access language, communication, and engagement. I love sharing what I do and how we can all help kiddos 💬🧠🩵🫧🧸

Parent Academy is a space for parents and caregivers to come together, learn, ask questions, and leave with practical tools and strategies they can actually use at home.

🎓 Our first workshop:

🧠 Regulation 101: Understanding Your Child & Supporting Regulation

During this workshop, we’ll talk about understanding regulation, recognizing what your child may be communicating through their behavior, and practical strategies you can use to support your child through everyday challenges.

You’ll also receive resources and tools to take home and add to your very own Parent Academy Family Toolkit! 🧰🩵

Is after school hard for your kiddo? For some, they can hold it together all day long and then they seem to collapse when they get home. While each kid is different, we’ve put together a list of ideas with activities that can be regulating and calming! Try focusing 20-30 minutes after transitioning home on providing these inputs before doing homework or any other demands 🩵 let me know which activity your child prefers!
