This support group serves people with cancer and those who love and support them. Participants share the experience of living with cancer and its impact on them, their family, and community. Our goal is to help people navigate the cancer journey from a position of empowerment, strength, humor, and hopefulness and to counteract fear, isolation, and helplessness. The Cancer Hope and Support Group in Auburn is unique to our area – in fact, it may be the only group of its kind in the country. For more than two decades, group meetings have provided emotional support and shared insight for cancer patients and their caregivers. Those that attend our meetings come from many surrounding communities, including online from other states, to take advantage of the resources and information that we provide.

In person or online via Zoom, participation helps guide and inform participants during their journey from diagnosis through treatment and beyond. The goal is to enhance their decision making and preserve the quality of their lives. We furnish these services at no cost to participants. Since 2015 the Group has been an independent nonprofit organization, with a dedicated Board of Directors to manage our operation. We depend on donations to sustain us.

We invite you to donate in memory of someone, or in honor of someone dealing with cancer. You may send a check to our address above, or we offer the convenience of PayPal to donate. Your donation may be tax-deductible (ask your tax preparer).

CHANGES: meeting location, time and day:
Starting Thursday, March 14, our meetings will be in person and on Zoom on THURSDAY morning from 10:00 to 12:30, PDT.
We will meet at the First Congregational Church of Auburn, 710 Auburn Ravine Rd., in a meeting room to the left of the church. You must access it via Church Rd (off Auburn Ravine, between Palm Ave. and Marguerite Mine Rd.)
