September is Peripheral Arterial Disease Awareness Month.

PAD affects more than 20 million adults in the United States, yet the condition can go unrecognized until symptoms become more serious.

Throughout September, AIROS Medical will be sharing clinical insights, PAD statistics, patient stories, and information about emerging approaches to managing symptoms of arterial insufficiency.

Because recognizing PAD is an important first step toward changing the course of the disease.

“I got diagnosed with lipedema. Now what?”

It's an important question—and one Susan O'Hara, Legs Like Mine says she hears frequently from the lipedema community.

In this featured segment from our full interview, Susan discusses practical steps healthcare providers can help patients explore following a diagnosis, including appropriate compression, referral to a Certified Lymphedema Therapist, physical therapy, nutrition, and psychosocial support.

Receiving a diagnosis is important. Knowing what to do next matters, too.

🎥 Watch this excerpt and then watch the full conversation with Susan O'Hara and AIROS Medical Clinical Advisor Adie MacKenzie to learn more about the new lipedema ICD-10 code and the future of lipedema care.

Thoughtful design can make at-home therapy easier.

For patients with mobility or flexibility limitations, simply getting a compression garment into position can be challenging.

That's why AIROS leg garments include O-ring pull handles, giving patients an easier way to grip, pull, and position the garment. They're also made with durable, easy-to-clean material to help simplify everyday care.

Because a patient-friendly garment isn't just about how therapy feels—it's also about making therapy easier to use.

How does the new lipedema ICD-10 code help doctors?

The new lipedema ICD-10 code is about more than assigning a diagnosis—it can help healthcare providers better recognize and understand lipedema.

In this short clip, Susan O'Hara from Legs Like Mine shares how the new code may provide clinicians with valuable information about symptoms, staging, and evidence-based resources, helping guide conversations with patients.

Greater awareness starts with education—and every step forward helps improve the future of lipedema care.

Clinical Pearl from AIROS Medical Advisor Dr. John Evans:

Peripheral artery disease, or PAD, can become more serious as it progresses. Chronic limb-threatening ischemia—also known as CLTI—is an advanced stage of the disease in which blood flow to the legs and feet is severely reduced.

Warning signs may include:

• Pain in the foot or leg while resting
• Wounds on the feet or toes that are slow to heal
• Changes in skin color or temperature
• Tissue damage or gangrene

These symptoms should not be ignored. Early evaluation and an appropriate treatment plan are important for protecting mobility and reducing the risk of limb loss.

ARTAIRA® is a prescription-based arterial compression system designed for at-home use to increase blood flow in the lower legs, feet and toes. Talk with your healthcare provider to learn whether ARTAIRA may be appropriate for you.
