Congress is currently drafting a Continuing Resolution (CR) to fund the federal government, and this is our opportunity to secure a two-year extension of the November 12 federal h**p ban implementation deadline. Without this extension, an estimated 95% of today's lawful h**p products could become federally unlawful.
Unfortunately, our opposition is mobilizing. Thousands of messages have already been sent urging Congress to either maintain the ban or create limited beverage carve-outs. We cannot afford to stay silent.
We've made it easy to take action—each takes less than two minutes.
Here's what you can do:
Complete the THBC advocacy form to send an email to your U.S. Senators; you'll help demonstrate the widespread support for protecting legal h**p. Every message counts, but volume matters. Call 202-224-3121 and ask to be connected to each of your U.S. Senators and tell them you are in favor of a two-year extension of Section 781 (which would move the implementation deadline from Nov. 12, 2026 to Nov 12, 2028). See suggested script below.
Suggested Script:
"I'm a constituent from [City, State]. I'm asking Senator [Name] to support including a two-year extension of the Section 781 h**p implementation deadline—from November 12, 2026, to November 12, 2028—in the Continuing Resolution. This matters to me because [one sentence about why h**p is important to you]."
