There is something that happens when you repeat the same sacred words 108 times.
At first, you are saying the mantra. Then somewhere along the way, the repetition begins to quiet everything else, and you find yourself simply resting inside the sound.
Tonight, in honor of Krishna Jayanti, I sat with Bala Krishna and offered 108 repetitions of his mantra.
This is one of the beautiful practices of Bhakti Yoga, the path of devotion. In the Sivananda tradition, Bhakti is cultivated through prayer, chanting, japa—the repetition of mantra—and remembrance of God. The practice gives the mind somewhere sacred to return, while gently opening the heart toward love, devotion, and surrender.
And I love that it can be so simple. A flower. A candle. An image that reminds you of the Divine. A mala in your hand. A mantra repeated with sincerity. Bhakti asks us to bring the heart into our practice, and to offer what we have with love.
Tonight, this was my offering.
ॐ नमो भगवते वासुदेवाय
Om Namo Bhagavate Vāsudevāya
May the blessings of Krishna go wherever they are needed. ✨🦚🙏🏼
