Love his focus and determination!
He will reach his goals - may God bless him as he takes his experiences forward, stronger, more determined, confident & able to reach beyond what others say are limits!!
Chris Nikic started with a single push-up in 2017. That was the whole program. One percent better than yesterday, every day, and never mind by how much.
On November 7, 2020 at Ironman Florida in Panama City Beach he swam 2.4 miles, rode 112 and ran a marathon, and crossed the line in 16 hours 46 minutes. The cutoff is 17 hours. He made it by fourteen minutes, and became the first person with Down syndrome to complete an Ironman.
He went back and cut it to 16:31 at the world championship in Kona in 2022. On March 3, 2024, at the Tokyo Marathon, he collected his sixth star and became the first person with Down syndrome to finish all six World Marathon Majors.
Ask him what the goal is now and he does not say a race. He says he wants to get married, run his own business, and take care of his family.
