Balanced informed consent is important! 🙌

I do my best to provide a balanced approach to disease, treatment, risk, vaccines, and side effects.

But it often feels like I present the negative side of vaccines more.

Well, of course I do! No one else will talk about it, so I will!

Most people agree that vaccines reduce the risk of their respective diseases, but at what cost? That’s the part we conveniently leave out of the conversation.

Or worse, we purposefully ignore!

That isn’t informed consent. That’s manipulation.

When there is an agenda, who needs common sense?

Vitamin K oral drops may not be as effective as IM vitamin K for preventing vitamin K deficiency bleeds (VKDB) because of three main issues:

1. Parents forget to give it - easy fix. Educate and remind!

2. Absorption issues in certain babies - though studies found similar efficacy rates when used as directed.

3. Babies may spit it up! It doesn’t work if they spit it up!

Ahhh, here is the hypocrisy.

Drops of oral vitamin K are super small. The general amount of drops is around 2-4 drops per dose. Most babies wouldn’t even notice a drop hitting their mouths!

Compare that to the rotavirus vaccine that we give orally and contains 1-1.5mL of liquid all in one go. That’s equivalent to 20-30 drops all at once!

So we worry about babies spitting out the oral vitamin K tiny dose but we don’t worry about them spitting out the rotavirus larger dose? We also don’t worry about absorption issues? 🤨

This is unbelievable, but true! 🤯

FDA tells rotavirus vaccine manufacturers that they don’t have to disclose the contamination of porcine circovirus in their vaccines despite evidence that both are contaminated and PCV is found in infant stool samples?

I wonder why we have trust issues. 🧐

Does Measles Cause Immune Amnesia?! 🤨

Short answer? Yep.

How severe? Well, kiddos are more likely to develop infections over the 5 years following a measles infection, but the infections are generally mild. No increased risk of hospitalization or death.

But this all comes from epidemiological data and very small antibody studies. That’s all it took to take it from “correlation” to “causation”: 77 children and 15 primates.
