Friends & Family,

On September 18 we celebrated the six year Heart Birthday for Ryan. We praise God for the miracle in Ryan and the miracle’s that God performs each day.

As we celebrated Ryan’s Heart Birthday, we also light a candle and have a moment of prayer for the donor family. We would not experience our miracle and joy with Ryan without the loss and sorrow in another family.

Today, we again ask for PRAYERS for Ryan for a surgery Biopsy procedure to take place early Monday morning, October 22. Ryan is doing great, but still requires these procedures in surgery. This one will be a double procedure with two entry points, a longer procedure, and longer recovery time.

We Thank You All for your thoughts and prayers for Ryan, for the doctors and staff, and for great outcomes.

Today we Celebrate Heart Birthday #5 for Ryan. Five years ago today, Ryan was given a second Gift of Life through his Heart Transplant. We Thank God for the Miracle of Life, and this second miracle and gift of life.
We also pause and light a candle to Honor and Remember the Donor and Family. Their selfless and gracious action gave hope and life to many recipients. I encourage everyone to mark the box on your DL to be a donor.
The ring in the picture with the candles was ordered by Ryan. The inscription says "UCLA~ 9-18-19~Isaiah 40:29". 'He gives strength to the weary...'.
We give all Honor and Praise to our Lord Jesus Christ.

Ryan was gifted the opportunity to attend a Kohl’s Kicking Camp training session. Such a great learning opportunity for him. Thank you Professor Chris Hanna for treating Ryan to this training camp!

Ryan shared his heart failure and transplant journey with Professor Hanna’s Health Care Policy class at SMU. Professor Hanna was also key in introducing Carly to Congressman Wenstrup for her DC internship last summer. You are a blessing to our family. Thank You!

Friends and Family,
Ryan's procedures went well, preliminary information and reports are good, and we were able to go home late Monday. An answer to MANY Prayers!! God is Great!!

Ryan is home and resting comfortable after a very early, long, grueling, physically and emotionally exhaustive Day. With two entry points Ryan needed to lay flat with no movement for an extended period. There were a couple of concerns that will need some follow-up. This has been a bit tougher recovery than others.

We now wait for the Cardiology Team to receive and review all the tests and information, and we pray for great outcomes and results.

Ryan has such a Great Disposition through all of this and is anxious to get to Soccer Tryouts and Surf Camp.

We are again asking for PRAYERS for Ryan for a surgery Biopsy procedure to take place early Monday morning, October 30.

Ryan is doing Great and just celebrated 48 months since his Heart Transplant. (Praise the Lord!) and just finished his first Football Season as a kicker. (Again, Praise God!).

This will be a double procedure checking both Left and Right areas of his heart, which also means two entry points, a longer procedure, and a much longer and more uncomfortable recovery.

We Pray for peace and comfort for Ryan, and for God to surround him and hold him in HIS arms, guidance and wisdom for all the doctors, nurses and staff, Full Acceptance, no issues, Great Function, Healing, Strength, Great Outcomes,....and quick Recovery.

This pic was to happen 4 years ago when Ryan’s Dutch cousins visited the US but instead Ryan unexpectedly landed in ICU with his heart failing.

He finally got to surf with his cousins this past weekend - something he’s wanted to do since he missed out in 2019.

Friends and Family,

After a Beautiful Wedding Weekend in Temecula, with Ryan's oldest sister Cassy getting married (Beautiful Bride, Wonderful Ceremony, Fantastic Reception, and a Great Weekend), we returned to have Ryan face an Early Monday morning Biopsy Surgery Procedure at UCLA.

There was a lot of hurry up and wait, praying and waiting through the procedure, and the Doctor came out reporting that the procedure went very well and initial reports were Very Good.
Again, an answer to MANY Prayers!! God is Great!

Recovery went well with some modest pain and discomfort, but, Ryan immediately asked for his favorite Footlong Subway sandwich.... A Very Good sign! Ryan did awesome and we were able to come home the same day!!

We received word that the initial Lab work all looked very good, and no med changes for now! Again, an answer to prayer! Now we again wait, and pray, that the biopsies and final reports all come back with Great Results.
