We had a great time at our first Skincare, Health & Wellness Event!

We provided education on skincare, health and wellness such as what hormones we should be thinking about with hormone imbalances and hormone transition (perimenopause, menopause and post menopause).

I was shocked by most of the participants not knowing common signs of hormonal imbalance and never having had their hormones checked.

Listen through the reel for takeways from the presentation.

Stay tuned for our next event, TBA.

And if you want to get your hormones checked along with a personal health and wellness such assessment PLUS skincare guidance, comment the word HORMONES below and I’ll get you set up.

You can also check out Pink Daisy Beauty Bar for your skin assessment and personal treatment.

Overlooked health issues I see as a provider that may actually be linked to allergies 👀

These are the connections I wish more people knew about…

1a) Fatigue
Allergies cause our immune system to have to work hard (and depending on exposures to environmental and/or food toxins and allergens, it’s working overtime).

1b) Fatigue can also be signs of irritation, inflammation and imbalances in our gut, SKIN

Inflammation in the gut due to:
- food and/or environmental allergies
- low or altered probiotics from eating processed foods, the wrong food for your body or low nutrient foods (ie sugar, caffeine, wheat, lack of fresh vegetables, fruit, fiber, plant based fats and protein)

2) Breathing issues
The most common cause for breathing issues are allergens 🤧
Our body breaths 24/7 our WHOLE ENTIRE LIFE and our nose 👃 is made to be filtering and humidifying the air we breathe. When our nose gets overloaded with allergen, it becomes swollen, inflamed and mucousy.

Our back up system is our mouth 👄
But our mouth really isn’t meant to breathe for our body. When we use our mouth to breathe, the air is unfiltered, cold and dry which introduces viruses, bacteria, and more allergies into our body. PLUS our mouth, throat and lungs DO NOT like dry, cold and unfiltered air leading to dry mouth, lips, cavities, teeth changes, jaw changes, bronchitis, throat infections like strep and swollen tonsils and adenoids.

Mouth breathing also contributes to fatigue due to poor sleep, snoring and sleep apnea.

3) developmental or mood issues
Bed wetting, thumb sucking, ADHD, anxiety can all stem from allergies due to inflammation and irritation of not being able to breathe during the day and night.

If you or a someone you know has been experiencing these symptoms but thought it was “normal”, may you find this information useful in knowing it’s not normal and should be evaluated.

Check out the link in the bio for more info on how to get allergy skin testing or DM me the word ALLERGY and I’ll get your set up for your personalized guidance.

Mouth breathing 😮‍💨 happens when you breathe through your mouth instead of your nose 👃

It is often caused by nasal congestion, a deviated septum, allergies, or enlarged tonsils and adenoids.

Over time, its NOT NORMAL 😳
Our bodies are meant to breath warm filtered air through our nose, not cold unfiltered air through our mouth 👄

Mouth breathing can lead to dry mouth, bad breath, tooth decay, poor sleep quality, and changes in facial structure in children and adults.

Common Causes Nasal blockages:
✨ A deviated septum
✨ nasal polyps
✨ or swollen turbinates (nose tissue).

🤧 Allergies and illnesses: Seasonal allergies, colds, or chronic sinus infections.

😪 Enlarged tissues: Swollen tonsils or adenoids, which block the airway behind the nose.

😮‍💨 Habit: Chronic mouth breathing can become an unconscious habit even after a temporary blockage clears.

Signs and Symptoms of prolonged problems to the body: Dry mouth, sore throat, bad breath, and increased cavities or gum disease.

Sleep signs: Snoring, apnea, drooling on the pillow, restless sleep, and waking up tired.

Developmental signs (in children): Changes in jaw and dental alignment, narrow dental arches, or daytime fatigue.

Treatment Options
Allergy management: allergy testing and customized allergy drops

Surgeries: tonsil removal, septum repair, sinus surgery.

Myofunctional therapy: Exercises to retrain the tongue and lips for proper nasal breathing.

Are you or someone you know mouth breathing? Do you want to find out the root cause, improve your health to breathe through your nose instead ?

DM me the word BREATHE and I’ll get you set up with a personal consult.

For kids and their family interested in holistic health coaching, check out .wellness

If mouth breathing has been occurring for over a month, it’s NOT “NORMAL” and should be evaluated to prevent it from getting worse.

Back-to-school time is here! 📚
Worried about how to help YOU and your kids have a successful school year?
Here are more tips!
(Watch the other video about breathing. Full video will be available on my website later this week (link in bio)).

Get back into a routine
Start adjusting bedtime and wake-up times before school starts. Consistency makes that first week so much easier!

Prioritize Meal Planning + hydration

Packaged foods have little to no nutrients (depending on how processed).

We get more vitamins, minerals, fiber, probiotics from fresh WHOLE food.

Nourishing balanced meals for your body and plenty of water can help support your immune system, energy, focus, and mood throughout the day.

Balanced meals include having 3 or more organic, local veggies per meal (bonus points getting veggies in at breakfast) + protein + fat (ie seeds, nuts, beans), and a serving of organic fresh fruit per day.

Getting a variety of fresh foods helps to keep our probiotics balanced.

Balanced probiotics =
✨Happy gut
✨Good mood
✨Optimal focus & attention
✨Sustained energy
✨Proper detox

Let’s have a great back to school year by setting yourself and your family up for success in finding the best foods that work for your bodies.

📚 Back-to-school time is here!
Worried about how to help YOU and your kids have a successful school year?

Here are 5 things to focus on 👇

1️⃣ Get back into a routine
Start adjusting bedtime and wake-up times before school starts. Consistency makes that first week so much easier!

If you’ve noticed your child (and/or YOU) have trouble falling asleep, staying asleep due to mouth breathing, congestion, snoring or gasping, it can contribute to attention and focus issues, frequent illness, and being less successful in the work we do.

2️⃣ Prioritize breakfast + hydration
A nourishing balanced breakfast for your body and plenty of water can help support energy, focus, and mood throughout the day.

3️⃣ Protect their sleep 😴
Sleep isn’t a luxury—it’s foundational. Create a calming bedtime routine and aim for consistent sleep each night.

Electronics off 1-3hrs before bedtime.

And kids need to go to bed earlier getting about 10-12hrs of sleep (depending on age and health needs).

4️⃣ Support their nervous system 🧠
Back-to-school can be exciting AND stressful. Give your kids space to talk, decompress, play, move their bodies, and simply be kids.

5️⃣ Don’t forget YOURSELF ❤️
Your kids don’t need a perfectly organized parent. They need a regulated, supported one. Make time for your own meals, sleep, movement, and mental reset, too.

✨ Healthy school years aren’t just about grades.
They’re about supporting the WHOLE child—and the WHOLE family.

Back-to-school doesn’t have to mean going from 0 → 100 overnight.

Small shifts in sleep, routines, nutrition, hydration, stress management, and connection can make a BIG difference in how the whole family adjusts.

And remember: your child’s health is more than their physical symptoms. Their sleep, nutrition, emotional wellbeing, environment, and daily routines all matter.

If YOU or YOUR CHILD are having breathing and sleep issues, get it checked out by a holistic dentist/pedi wellness coach Dr Julia with Oris Wellness and me at Enlighten Holistic Health to prevent worsening!

Here’s to a healthy, supported, and successful school year!

We had a great community gathering today At our Health & Wellness Discussion Club/Cacao Talks.

We talked about:
- the history of our US medical system as we know it today
- how big business of hospitals, medical schools, insurance and big Pharma dictate how providers provide health care and profit off keeping people sick
- how big businesses are buying up wellness companies to appear healthy but market for profit, not health

POV: “You should keep politics out of your healthcare business posts.”

These photos aren’t about politics.

They’re about showing up on a hot Saturday morning, knocking on doors, and talking to neighbors because the policies that shape healthcare don’t magically appear—they’re decided by the people we elect.

As a healthcare professional, I don’t have the luxury of pretending those decisions don’t affect my patients or my practice.

Advocating for healthcare isn’t a side hobby. It’s part of caring for people.

If that makes some of my content “political,” so be it.

Get your voice heard this upcoming election in November. Get out and VOTE 🗳️ I’ll be out there to advocating for affordable healthcare for all!!

Early voting in TX starts October 19, Election Day is November 3.

Not registered to vote? You can register before Oct 5 for the November election.

Poll: Do you like having a healthcare provider that you can talk to about politics, health and wellness?

Have you been given quick fix bandages instead of real answers and long term solutions by a healthcare provider?

We met for this Monthly event La Pâtisserie to hear from people about their struggles navigating through the US healthcare system.

Today we talked about how the struggle is real and why people end up feeling like they have to manage their own health care.

We discussed ways to get the answers we want in improving health and finding holistic providers that are board certified and trained to be a knowledgeable guide in that journey.

Join us each month to learn more about how to better manage your health care while enjoying some treats at La Patisserie.

Special thanks to La Pâtisserie White Sage Integrative Wellness, Apothecary & Med Spa and Monique Nicole Le Clair for collaborating!
