📣 Research Opportunity for Deaf Parents of Autistic Children

Are you a Deaf parent or legal guardian of a child ages 3 to 6 with an autism spectrum disorder diagnosis?

Miami University is conducting a research study that families can participate in entirely from home. No clinic visits or travel are required.

Participation includes:
🏠 Answering questions online from home
📦 Receiving a free activity kit by mail
🎥 Recording a 15- to 30-minute play session with your child
🔒 Uploading the video through a secure portal
🎁 Keeping the toys, book, game, and tripod provided

The total commitment is approximately 1 to 2 hours, and eligible families can receive up to $100. Participation is completely voluntary.

Your child may be Deaf or hearing. Both are welcome!

Today, we remember Kaylee Hottle with heavy hearts.

Kaylee was more than a talented actress. She was a trailblazer whose authenticity, courage, and pride in her Deaf identity inspired countless people around the world. Through her work, she helped bring meaningful Deaf representation to the screen and showed young Deaf children and adults that they belong, their stories matter, and their dreams are possible.

Her legacy extends far beyond film. She helped spark conversations about accessibility, inclusion, and the importance of authentic representation. Her impact will continue to inspire future generations to break barriers and create a more inclusive world.

Our thoughts are with Kaylee’s family, friends, colleagues, and everyone whose lives she touched. May they find comfort in the incredible legacy she leaves behind.

Rest in peace, Kaylee. Your light, your talent, and your impact will never be forgotten. 💙

Have you heard about Texas Driving with Disability Program?

Texas is rolling out new accessibility updates that can help improve communication during traffic stops and roadside interactions for Deaf, Hard of Hearing, and disabled Texans.

Some of the updates include:
• A Deaf/Hard of Hearing designation option on Texas IDs
• Better visibility for communication-related information
• Resources designed to support safer and clearer interactions with law enforcement
