An extra curve is better than nothing as far your nervous system is concerned.

Your nervous system has three jobs it will never quit:

1 - Keep breathing.
2 - Stay oriented, always know which way is up.
3 - Stay upright, and do not fall.

These are survival necessities, not luxuries. Lose any one of them and life is at risk. So your body guards them above everything else, and it will spend the negotiable parts of you to keep them running: your symmetry, your ease, your straight spine.

Given a twist it cannot undo, a straight spine would leave your head tilted off level and your balance lost. A curve can bring your eyes back to the horizon and keep you breathing and upright.

Seen that way, the curve is not the body breaking down. It is the body doing its job with the information it has.

And that is the opportunity you have.

You do not fight the shape.

You give the system better signals, from the ground, from your breath, from your eyes, and the strategy can update on its own.

That is exactly what we train. 4 Live Workshops to get you aware and connected to your organization from the inside out.

How long have you been strengthening your scoliosis?

"Stretch this." "Strengthen that." "You're weak." "Build more muscle."

That framework makes sense if your only model is bones and muscles.

But posture is not just a mechanical problem.
It is your nervous system's best prediction of how to organize your body.

That's why I'm careful not to say posture correction.

Your posture wasn't wrong.

It was the correct solution your brain generated for the conditions it believed it was in.

I know we live in a society addicted to proving their worth through effort, but the goal isn't to fight or strengthen that organization.

It's to update it.

Updating your body schema and your nervous system's default prediction is a completely different skill than building strength.

Strength matters.
Eventually.

But strength built on an outdated organization simply reinforces the same old pattern.

Think about a toddler.
They don't deadlift, count macros, or chase PRs before they can stand, balance, and move effortlessly.

Organization comes first.
Capacity comes second.

The cues are aimed at muscles when the real opportunity is changing how your nervous system experiences and organizes your body.

That is the paradigm shift.

If this changes how you think about posture, comment SYNTROPY and I'll show you the core skill set I use to help people update posture through systematic organization before building strength.

Is there a cure for scoliosis?

Here is the honest answer almost no one gives you.

For a century we treated the curve as a bone problem. Brace the bone, straighten the bone, fuse the bone. And yes, some of it is tissue. Old scar tissue and tight fascia are real. Sometimes even misshapen vertebrae like my T11 hemivertabrae.

But under the tissue is a signal: your body's own sense of where it is in space.

In 2013, researchers disrupted that sense in growing animals. No weak muscles. No broken bone. Nothing touched the spine. A straight spine bent anyway.

In people, that same sense is shaped every day by things you can change. How you sit. Your screen time. Always working one side. And it is not only physical: stress and old emotional holding shape it too.

That is the part I keep coming back to... that sense can be trained.

So the question changes. Not "how do I force the shape straight," but "how do I give my body better information, so it stops generating the curve as home."

That is the whole method.

Treating scoliosis is about sensation, not strength.

Comment SYNTROPY to join our 4 week safety, sensation & pressure workshops to organize your body from the core out.

For a century scoliosis was treated as a bone problem. The newest research keeps pointing somewhere else: your nervous system generates the curve from a predictive map of where upright is. When the sensing comes in off, it generates the curve and learns it as home. That is the heart of the Neural Generation Hypothesis, the model I pieced together and published.

Which changes everything about treatment. Strength is something you do, and it fades the moment your attention leaves. Posture is something you generate, and it runs on its own, even in your sleep. That is why the shape keeps coming back after the brace, after the exercises. You did nothing wrong. You worked the layer that was always going to fade, because the layer underneath never got the new information.

Strength still belongs here. It just serves the sensing, not the reverse. And what holds is only what is left when the scaffolding of props and cues comes off. This is why it is a practice, not a routine: your sensation keeps changing, so the practice keeps learning with it.

We are not waiting for the future of scoliosis care. We built the method that applies it, a systematized way to restore the sensing and generate upright on purpose. That is the Syntropic Core Reset.

Not a cure, and never instead of your specialist. Bracing and surgical decisions belong with them.

They call it "idiopathic" scoliosis. Idiopathic means cause unknown. For a hundred years that was the honest answer, and it's why you were probably told there was nothing to do but manage it.

The pieces of the answer were already there, scattered across a dozen labs, in studies nobody had put in one line. So I connected them into one hypothesis, the Neural Generation Hypothesis, and published it. Here's the chain.

Your posture isn't a stack of bones. Your nervous system generates it every second, from a map of your body that neuroscience calls the body schema (Head & Holmes, 1911). Bend the map, and you bend the spine.

The map can drift. In growing animals, disturbing the body-sensing part of the brain alone produced scoliosis, with muscles and spine normal (Domenech, 2013). And the drift comes first: animals without their position-sensing neurons curved before any bone changed (Blecher, 2017). Many ways in, a sense off, an old injury, your genetics, a protective pattern learned young. One, or a few at once.

Then your body generates that off-true posture, moment to moment. Run it through a growth spurt and the uneven load prints the lean into the bone (Stokes, 2007). And your nervous system starts reading the curve as normal and defends it. That's the lock.

Here's what's wild: in 2026 the world's biggest scoliosis congress shifted from "correcting the shape" to "remodeling neural control," and called for a unifying hypothesis. Weeks before it opened, I'd already written it.

And here's why it's exciting. The curve is generated upstream, in how you sense and organize yourself, and that's exactly where the real work is. No brace, no surgeon, can update your map for you. That part was always yours.

That's the Syntropic Core Reset. Next live round: Tuesday, July 28, four mornings, a small virtual room.

Works upstream, alongside the care that manages the bone, never instead of it. Not a replacement for bracing, surgery, or check-ups. A fast-changing or painful curve is a doctor conversation first.

I flew to a Daoist temple in the Wudang mountains of China to check my work.

Seven hours of training a day, no comforts, only presence.

Posture is not a position you hold. It is an output your nervous system generates, moment to moment, from various sensory inputs of pressure, safety, and attention. That is why stretching and forcing yourself straight never sticks. You cannot out-muscle your own body's predictions.

So I mapped the specific conditions that let the body update its shape. Then I went to the source of Daoist lineages that were already practicing under these conditions.

They just never wrote it in the language of neuroscience, and they have been living it for a thousand years.

There is a word for what happens when those conditions are met: syntropy. Order that arises on its own instead of being forced. You do not hold yourself upright. When the conditions are right, upright emerges.

And on the last day, when I asked the master what I should never forget, he did not say train harder.

He said compassion. Cultivate your own energy before you go trying to help anyone else's.

That is the work now. It is why the first step I teach is called the Syntropic Core Reset. Comment SYNTROPY for info on that. Link in bio.

Lets spell it together: S-Y-N-T-R-O-P-Y.

We need to pay attention to words and stories that brings us together...

Comment SYNTROPY if you want to start training it.

Everything in the universe is quietly losing a war with entropy, the slow slide of all things toward falling apart. Your body is the rebel in the room.

Every second, without you ever asking, it spends energy pulling itself back toward order. That pull has a name. Syntropy. Your good days are that pull winning. Your worst ones are it losing a little ground.

And it lives somewhere real. Not the six-pack. Deeper. Your core, the diaphragm above, the pelvic floor below, the breath and pressure between them. It is the one place your whole system can be reached on purpose. It is also where you feel like yourself. Safe or braced. Grounded or scattered. That is not poetry. That is the center reporting safety and structural integrity.

Which is exactly why it matters that the center is almost always the first thing to go. For a lot of us it went quiet years ago, under all the bracing and holding and getting through. And everything since, the stretches, the core work, the "just strengthen it" you were handed, has been quietly working around a center that was compromised a long time ago. You cannot out-stretch a center that is offline. It rebuilds the old shape by morning.

So we stop chasing the surface, and we bring the center back online, on purpose. That is the whole Syntropic Core Reset. Not just core strength. A specific sequence that restores the organizing pull through breath and pressure, the most direct conscious lever you have. Safety first, then breath, then pressure, then movement. In that order, for a reason. Do that, and you stop holding yourself up and start being held from the inside.

The next live round with me starts Tuesday, July 28. Four Tuesday mornings, a small room, and I walk you through every step.

One of the biggest changes I've made for my back wasn't another exercise.

It was sleeping on the floor.

A soft mattress spreads pressure so evenly that your body gets less honest feedback about how it's organized. A firmer surface gives your nervous system clearer information, which can help you become more aware of how you're actually resting.

If you decide to try it, don't go from the softest mattress straight to the hardwood floor.

A few tips:

• Transition gradually to a firmer surface. • Start by sleeping on your back. • Use a thin pillow, or no pillow if it feels comfortable. • Don't judge it after one night. Give your body time to adapt. • Before trying to fall asleep, slow your breathing and treat the first 10 to 20 minutes as a breathing or meditation practice instead of forcing sleep. • Stay curious. Some initial discomfort is normal as your body adapts to different pressure.

For me, sleep is one of the biggest opportunities for the nervous system to consolidate change. That's why, in the Syntropic Core Reset, we pay close attention to how you breathe, organize, and recover while you sleep. For people with scoliosis, kyphosis, and other postural adaptations, your sleeping environment can either reinforce old patterns or support new ones.

Comment SYNTROPY and I'll send you more information about the Syntropic Core Reset.

I've spent years obsessed with one question: what actually is posture?

Because here's what kept bothering me. Almost everyone with a curve is trying to fix a problem no one has really defined. Strengthen this, stretch that, brace it, straighten it. But if you don't know what you're actually fixing, you're just guessing.

So I went the other way and traced it all the way back. And what I found is that your posture isn't a thing you hold. It's something your nervous system generates, every second, from a map of you. A curve is that map, drifted, then generated and held so long your body came to call it home.

That whole causal chain is what this carousel walks through. If you want the full depth behind it, it lives in two things I've been building for years: the Neural Generation Hypothesis and the Generative Posture Framework.

And here's why it matters. Once you actually define the problem, a real solution shows up. Not a quick fix. It takes time, and honestly, the longer you've been generating in one direction, the longer it takes. But you can become conscious of the levers. The way you breathe changes it. Where you put your attention changes it. Sensation, pressure, awareness, these are the back doors into a process that mostly runs without you. Even the words we use matter. And once you learn the conditions for update, your body can start doing the work itself.

That's what the Syntropic Core Reset is. The next live round with me starts Tuesday, July 28. Four Tuesday mornings, 10am Eastern / 7am Pacific, a small room, and I take you through every step, in person..
