👟✨ Honored to be featured in InStyle sharing my podiatrist perspective on the new Trail Sneaker!

As a foot and ankle specialist, I’m always looking for shoes that strike the right balance between comfort, support, stability, and style. That’s exactly what caught my attention about this shoe. Features like the stabilizing heel clip, cushioned midsole, secure fit, and durable traction make it a strong option for travel, long walking days, and everyday wear.

One of my favorite quotes from the article was that the heel feels like it’s “getting a hug”. This is a detail that can make a big difference when you’re spending hours on your feet.

The reality is that the best shoe isn’t necessarily the trendiest one. It’s the one that supports your unique foot type and activity level. When evaluating a sneaker, I always look beyond appearance and focus on factors like stability, cushioning, fit, and how the shoe performs after several hours of wear.

Thank you to for including my expert insights! Have you tried the Alo Trail Sneaker yet? Let me know your thoughts ⬇️.

If you’ve entered perimenopause or menopause and suddenly developed heel pain, arch pain, aching feet, or plantar fasciitis, you’re not imagining it.

Many women assume foot pain is simply a consequence of aging, but hormonal changes may play a larger role than most people realize.

As estrogen levels decline, we can see changes in connective tissue, collagen production, muscle mass, inflammation, and even body weight distribution. These changes can affect the plantar fascia, tendons, ligaments, and joints of the feet, making pain and injury more common during midlife.

One of the most common complaints I see in women during this stage of life is heel pain as a result of plantar fasciitis.

The good news: foot pain is not something you should simply accept.

Supportive footwear, strength training, maintaining muscle mass, addressing inflammation, optimizing metabolic health, stretching, and early intervention can make a tremendous difference.

If you’re experiencing new foot pain during perimenopause or menopause, know that you’re not alone and there are solutions.

Did your feet change during perimenopause or menopause? I’d love to hear your experience below. 👇

Shoe shopping with my goddaughter 👟💛

One of the most common things I see in kids is discomfort caused by shoes that are simply too worn out, too small, or not supportive for their foot type.

When shopping for kids’ athletic shoes, I recommend:
✔️ Measuring both feet regularly
✔️ Checking outsole wear patterns
✔️ Looking for a supportive heel counter
✔️ Making sure there’s adequate toe room
✔️ Letting the child WALK in the shoes before deciding

We tried several excellent options at and ultimately landed on the Ride 19 for her feet 👏

Parents, don’t assume leg or foot pain is “just growing pains.” Sometimes the right shoes make a huge difference.

There’s something incredibly special about friendships that grow with you through every season of life. ❤️

This week, we took our first family trip of the summer to Washington DC and Alexandria, Virginia to visit my dear friend Stefanie. We met in the 6th grade, 32 years ago, and somehow all these years later, life has woven our families together in the most beautiful way.

Watching Meredith laugh and make memories with Lucy and Charlotte filled my heart in a way that’s hard to put into words. The girls spent their days exploring together while the boys bonded over golf and good conversation. Every evening ended around the dinner table with incredible family-style meals lovingly prepared by Stefanie and Andrew. The kind of dinners where time slows down and everyone lingers a little longer because the company is just that good.

We cheered on both girls in their soccer games (both wins! ⚽️🙌), explored beautiful places, shared countless laughs, and soaked in the kind of moments that remind you what really matters.

Friendships like this are such a gift. The kind where years and miles never change the foundation, only deepen it. I’m so grateful our daughters now get to experience the joy of growing up with lifelong friendships too.

Summer is off to a pretty beautiful start. ☀️✨

Motherhood has been the greatest adventure of my life.

This past year alone, Meredith has been my travel buddy, my shopping partner, my makeup tutor, and my favorite little co-conspirator at the nursery while we somehow leave with “just one plant” and a car full of flowers. 🌸

Watching her grow into an independent, thoughtful, funny, and strong pr***en pulls at my heartstrings in ways I never could have prepared for. There’s a bittersweet beauty in witnessing the little girl you carried become someone so wonderfully her own. And while part of me wishes time would slow down, an even bigger part of me is overwhelmed with pride as I watch her grow into such an incredible young woman.

Being her mom is my greatest gift. Always has been. Always will be.

Happy Mother’s Day to all the moms, grandmothers, bonus moms, and women who love and nurture others so deeply. And sending extra love today to those who are missing their moms, grieving motherhood in some way, or carrying complicated emotions today. You are seen, and you are not alone. 💕

I’ve been seeing more plantar warts in the office lately 🦠.

Plantar warts are caused by HPV (human papilloma virus) and thrive on the feet for a reason: warm, moist environments + constant microtrauma + pressure = the perfect storm.

The good news? They’re very treatable when caught early. Swipe to learn what they are, how they spread, and what actually works to get rid of them.

I have seen significant success, combining class IV laser therapy (painless) and topical compounded medication applied nightly at bedtime (also painless). It is important to me that treatment can be performed while the patient remains active and without the need for regular wound care. With this method, there are no wounds, and there are no activity restrictions! On average, the wart treatment is completed in approximately three treatments.
