Friday night, four brave souls embarked on a journey to find out what they did and didn't like when it comes to being touched. It was wonderful to see people relax into their bodies, smiling and giggling. As always the word I use most to describe people after receiving nurturing human touch is "relieved."

It's been a couple of months since I've done an in-person event in Reno, and I'm excited to be returning to House of RA for another night of nurturing human touch. So many people are touch-starved but have no idea of how to cross that territory between two people. Come practice in a low-stakes space where we will start small and go slowly. People of all genders are welcome at this one. :) Hope to see y'all out there in a couple of weeks!

Back in July I sat down to talk with to chat about human touch. We talked about how she didn't like to be touched until she had kids, and how touch can create connection between people. Great reminder of how our need and desire for touch can change over the course of our lifetime.

When I was writing my book about how to get more touch as a single person, I had lots of folks come up to me and whisper, "you know, single people aren't the only ones who struggle with getting enough touch."

Yup, I did know that - the s*x = touch paradigm hurts people who are romantically involved, in different ways from how it hurts single people.

A few years back I created this workshop for a support group for couples focused on s*xuality run by a friend who was a s*x therapist. I'm excited to be dusting it off and offering it this week in Reno. Come on out and give yourself and your partner the gift of an expanded touch vocabulary.

Hitting this one a bit late, but this was such a fun conversation. I love talking to people who grew up in different cultures to find out how touch is navigated there.
