Diagnostic Pain Center

Diagnostic Pain Center Now with 2 locations: North Austin / Cedar Park / Round Rock / Georgetown / Pflugerville & Central / South Austin / Kyle / Bee Cave Locations!

Founded by Robert Marks, MD, we specialize in diagnosis and advanced pain management treatments, integrating traditional and progressive medicine, minimally invasive interventional procedures, and therapies for all acute and chronic pain types.
In 2012, Dr. Robert S. Marks, a compassionate, double board-certified, fellowship-trained interventional pain management specialist, founded Diagn

ostic Pain Center so that he would never have any business entity dictate how much time he could dedicate to a patient visit. With a foundation of the highest interventional training and continued procedural learning, DPC's superior patient care requires, as the name implies, that our fellowship-trained pain management doctors invest the necessary time to extensively document histories, imaging, and complete comprehensive diagnostic examinations with each patient, whether this is your first time visiting a pain management doctor, or hopefully your last. DPC's competitive fellowship-trained doctors specialize in treating and diagnosing the root cause of all types of acute and chronic pain, such as disease, age/degeneration, physiology, failed surgery, and car accident injury. After all the information is gathered, our passionate pain management professionals collaborate with the patient to explain in depth the robust and progressive options and, together with the patient, create the ideal, individualized treatment plan to help restore quality of life. This exciting field of medicine is ever-expanding, with new medical and minimally invasive options being routinely added. Still, trying to figure out where to start? When in the best interest of the patient or desired, DPC possesses a multidisciplinary referral network of other trusted providers. On the rare occasion that different medical interventions are needed, our ethics implore that when we cannot help, we will honestly direct you to the best place or person to help you as we would our family. If we need to coordinate care, our providers and office will remain responsive. In addition, if care has been previously received at a different pain control clinic, we are a trusted second opinion, and our doctors will take the time to answer your questions. At DPC, patients are individuals, not numbers, and doctors and patients make the decisions together. The primary goal is to ensure you no longer need a pain doctor. But until then, you are not alone; we are here to help!

100% Physician-owned, all our providers take pride in offering personable, compassionate, cost-effective pain management care and patient responsiveness. DPC is in-network with most major insurance carriers, Medicare, and Tricare. It also accepts private cash pay, funding companies, and Letters of Protection (LOP). Experience why DPC is the longtime, trusted source of pain management for hurting and injured Texans.

Our own Dr. Robert Marks recently shared his perspective on the Texas Compassionate Use Program (TCUP) and why greater awareness is needed.

Many Texans who may qualify for the program still don't know it exists. In this article, Dr. Marks discusses how increased education can help patients better understand their treatment options and have more informed conversations with their healthcare providers.

Take a few minutes to read his thoughts on this important topic.

Is it Back Pain or Hip Pain?

Many people assume pain in the lower back, buttock, or upper leg is coming from their back, but the source of the pain isn't always obvious.

💡 A few clues:
✔️ Back pain often radiates down the leg and may worsen with bending, lifting, or sitting for long periods.
✔️ Hip pain is more commonly felt in the groin, side of the hip, or upper thigh and may worsen with walking, climbing stairs, or getting in and out of a car.

Because the symptoms can overlap, getting the right diagnosis is the first step toward finding the right treatment.

If you're struggling with pain and aren't sure where it's coming from, our team can help identify the source and create a personalized treatment plan to get you back to doing what you love.
