Dr. Paul combined training in ophthalmic plastic surgery and ophthalmology has unique abilities to perform a host of delicate procedures around the eyes while taking advantage of opportunities to cosmetically enhance a patient’s appearance. His skill set complements the expertise of every ophthalmic and optometric physician and makes an important contribution to the services of practitioners in other medical disciplines. Cosmetic surgery is generally perceived as a “beautification” procedure rather than as the repair of a physical flaw. Most of the work ophthalmic plastic and reconstructive surgeons perform strikes a balance between surgical science and facial appearance. They apply their knowledge of ophthalmology, anatomy and tissue behavior, as well as an awareness of existing limitations, with the wisdom to know what to do and why. Some of the more common problems treated surgically include droopy brows, droopy lids, redundant upper and lower eyelid skins, furrows on the forehead and around the eyes, and congenital disfigurements.

It was a true honor to serve as Co-Chair of the Oculoplastics Session at the 2026 Vegas Cosmetic Surgery meeting.

Spending time alongside some of the most talented surgeons in our specialty, discussing innovations, sharing techniques, and advancing the field of aesthetic and reconstructive eyelid surgery was both professionally rewarding and personally inspiring.

One of the greatest privileges of medicine is the opportunity to continually learn from colleagues who challenge us to elevate our standards and improve patient care.

Thank you to the faculty, presenters, attendees, and organizers for creating such an outstanding educational experience. I left energized, grateful, and excited for the future of oculoplastic surgery.

Looking forward to bringing these insights back to our patients and team at Austin Face and Body.

Over or under the muscle?👀

Dr. Schneider explains why he now chooses over the muscle placement for many of his breast augmentation patients and how implant placement is tailored to each patients anatomy and goals🍒

Healing is just as important as the procedure itself🤍

Dr. Schneider performs a gynecomastia procedure on a male patient in his 20’s

Through a small incision carefully placed along the border of the ar**la, excess glandular tissue was removed to restore a flatter, more balanced chest contour with minimal visible scarring.

A thoughtful approach to revision breast augmentation.

This procedure involved removal of the previous implant and treatment of scar tissue beneath the pectoralis muscle before reconstructing the implant pocket in a more anatomically balanced position.

By restoring the pectoralis muscle back to the inframammary fold and creating a new subfascial pocket, the goal was to achieve a narrower, more centered implant position on the chest wall with improved symmetry and support.

Procedure performed:• Revision breast augmentation• Pocket reconstruction• Conversion from submuscular to subfascial implant placement
