Located on top of the hospital’s 60-bed Critical Care Unit, the garden can accommodate up to six beds at once. Each bed connects to a specially designed weatherproof medical cabinet supplying power, data and medical gases — meaning even ventilated patients can be wheeled outside without losing any life-support care.
The £2m project was funded by King’s College Hospital Charity, with additional Trust support, and designed by landscape architect Professor Nigel Dunnett alongside three-time Chelsea Flower Show gold medallist Sarah Price.
