Mental health care starts with trust, compassion, and meeting patients where they are.

A recent story from Direct Relief highlights how Dallas-area charitable clinics are helping break the stigma around mental health by creating safe, community-centered spaces for care. Clinics are expanding counseling services, increasing telehealth access, and building stronger relationships with patients who may have never felt comfortable seeking support before.

TXACC is proud to see several of our member clinics recognized for the life-changing work they do every day. Brother Bill's Helping Hand, Agape Clinic, and Mercy Clinic of Fort Worth are among the organizations leading efforts to improve access to behavioral health services and reduce stigma in their communities. Their work reflects the power of compassionate, patient-centered care and strong community partnerships.

Thank you to Direct Relief, National Association of Free & Charitable Clinics (NAFC), and Teva Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. for continuing to support mental health care access for underserved communities across Texas and beyond.

Expanding access to mental health care takes strong partnerships and long-term commitment, and this latest investment is a powerful step forward.

Direct Relief, Teva Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd., and the National Association of Free & Charitable Clinics (NAFC) have announced a second round of funding, awarding $75,000 to each of 11 free and charitable clinics across Alabama, Mississippi, and Texas.

We’re proud to share that 7 Texas clinics within the TXACC network were selected, reflecting the critical role charitable clinics play in meeting mental health needs across our communities.

Through the Community Routes: Access to Mental Health Care program, Teva has committed $2 million over two years to strengthen mental health services in underserved communities. Now in its fourth year, this initiative continues to support clinics that deliver accessible, culturally responsive, and community-grounded care.

At TXACC, we see every day how mental health care remains out of reach for many Texans. This funding helps expand services, reduce barriers, and reach more individuals and families who would otherwise go without care.

We’re grateful to our partners and proud of our member clinics leading this work across Texas.

Houston Summit ✔️

Our TXACC Houston Summit brought clinic leaders together for open discussion, shared lessons, and practical ideas to support patient care across Texas. The energy in the room reflected the commitment and heart behind this work.

Thank you to Heart to Heart International for standing with us again and supporting these regional leadership gatherings. Your partnership continues to make a real difference for free and charitable clinics.

We are thankful to the The Health Museum for allowing us to host our summit in such a cool and welcoming space.

We were glad to feature the same speakers from our Dallas Summit, helping keep the conversation consistent across regions.

Proud of this network and the collaboration it represents.

It’s official: the Arthur Nagel Community Clinic in Bandera, Texas, now has its own permanent laboratory.

The Laboratory and Disaster Response teams from Heart to Heart International worked together to bring this needed resource to the community. With modern equipment and hands-on training in place, the clinic can provide faster diagnoses and stronger patient care close to home.

We are proud of this partnership and the shared goal of removing barriers to care so patients can recover sooner and with less stress.

Last Friday, we held our Dallas Regional Leadership Summit — our first-ever regional leaders summit, and the start of something new for TXACC.

Clinic leaders from across North Texas came together to talk about disaster prep, clinic growth, funding, and the real challenges they face every day. We shared ideas, learned from each other, and built stronger connections across our network.

A big thank you to our sponsor, Heart to Heart International for making this summit possible and for leading a great disaster-prep conversation with our leaders. Another big thank you to our speakers, Ken Janda from Wild Blue Health Solutions and Jessica Pugil from The Working Partner, for helping guide thoughtful, honest conversations. Your insight and time meant a lot to our clinics.

These summits are about more than meetings. They are about giving clinic leaders space to be heard, supported, and better prepared to serve their communities.

We are grateful to everyone who joined us in Dallas and helped make the day meaningful.

Next stop: Austin!

Yesterday, we visited GRACE Grapevine Community Clinic in Grapevine with Heart to Heart International.

Grace serves local families in need by providing access to medical care through its Community Clinic. The clinic is a medical home for uninsured residents who may not have access to traditional health care. It is part of a broader effort by Grapevine Relief and Community Exchange (GRACE) that offers food assistance, emergency financial support, housing help, senior services, and seasonal programs for families facing crisis.

Heart to Heart International supports clinics like Grace by strengthening their ability to care for patients. Their work includes providing medical supplies and medications, supporting disaster response, training, and long-term clinic partnerships that help clinics stay prepared and stable. This support allows clinic teams to focus on patients without worrying about resource gaps.

Visits like this show how trusted partnerships help clinics serve more people and support healthier communities across North Texas.

This is big news for Texas healthcare.

Bringing these two platforms together creates something stronger than either one alone. A shared data foundation that reflects real life, real needs, and real communities can change how care is planned and delivered across the state.

Excited to see what this means for patients, clinics, and communities moving forward. Congrats to the teams behind this work.

📣 Patient Care Intervention Center and Healthconnect Texas are proud to announce a strategic unification!

This unification brings together two complementary strengths, community information exchange and statewide clinical data infrastructure, to support more connected, actionable insights across Texas.
