Step Two: Align Your Thoughts, Emotions, and Actions
One of the biggest reasons we can struggle to create lasting change isn't because we lack motivation or discipline.
It's because a part of us wants to move forward while another part is pulling us back.
For example, you may say you want better health, yet you continue putting your needs last.
You may want to grow your business, yet spend time on busy work that is easy instead of the activities that will make a difference. Goodness knows this is something I still struggle with.
Or perhaps you want more peace, yet your mind is constantly reliving conversations or rehearsing problems that haven't even happened.
When your thoughts, emotions, and actions aren't aligned, life feels like a struggle.
It's like driving with one foot on the accelerator and the other on the brake. You may still move forward, but it takes far more effort than it should.
Alignment happens when what you think, what you feel, and what you do all support what you want and where you want to go.
That doesn't mean life suddenly becomes perfect. It means your unconscious mind is no longer working against you.
One of the greatest shifts in my own life came when I stopped asking, "How do I make this happen?" and started asking, "What feels aligned right now?"
That simple question changed the quality of my decisions because it changed where those decisions were coming from.
This week, notice one area of your life where your thoughts, emotions, and actions seem to be in conflict.
Don't judge yourself.
Simply notice and maybe ask, “What is one action that feels good right now?”
Pausing and then paying attention to how something feels BEFORE taking action is always the first step toward lasting change.
