In the midst of chaos, the nervous system needs a place to land.

At this weekend’s Changing Tides event, 5NP Texas is honored to support trauma nurses, hospice nurses, nursing students—and also the Jonestown Police Chief—with a simple, powerful tool for regulation and resilience: auricular acupuncture in nature.

When stress is prolonged—whether from high-acuity clinical environments, grief work, or the cumulative weight of caring for others or protecting a community—the body holds it. The 5 Needle Protocol offers a non-verbal pathway to release, helping to calm the sympathetic response and gently restore balance through stimulation of vagal nerve pathways in the ear.

We had a great time this past week meeting so many dedicated helping professionals at the TAMFT conference here in Galveston! We had a drawing for 2 scholarships to attend a Texas training and our upcoming Montana retreat training. In collaboration with the Texas State University School of Nursing, 5NP Texas, Epic SUP and an array of amazing community and agency partners, Operation Get Out’s Changing Tides event is designed to support those navigating high-demand roles through a blend of agency education and an introduction to the importance of intentionally creating a wellness toolbox to find calm while navigating a career where chaos is to be expected.

By introducing this program to TXST School of Nursing, we hope to build resilience, improve stamina and support long meaningful and healthier careers in nursing.

To support those affected, 5NP Texas is offering a free community ear acupuncture group using the 5-Needle Protocol, a gentle, non-verbal treatment that helps regulate the nervous system and reduce stress.

This is a quiet group setting where participants sit together while receiving treatment. No sharing or talking is required — just space to breathe, settle, and receive support.
