What Recent Reiki Research Is Revealing

Recent Reiki research is beginning to echo what many clients have felt in session: deep rest can be powerful medicine for the whole person.

A 2025 meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials found that Reiki therapy was associated with improvements in quality of life. Another 2024 review explored Reiki’s potential role in easing anxiety. While Reiki is not a replacement for medical or mental health care, these studies point toward something important: practices that help the body soften, settle, and feel supported may have meaningful wellness benefits.

There’s a moment at the beginning of every Reiki session…

Before anything shifts—
before the breath deepens—
before the body softens—

There’s a quiet pause.
