"The core of the problem in spiritual seeking thus centers around the basic cause in a faulty relationship between the 'me' and the 'other'. Is there a basic cause in almost all relationship? If you analyze the many instances of faulty relationships, you will be astonished to realize in how many cases, the cause comes down to something like:
1. Why should she have said that?
2. Why could he not have done this for me?
In other words, the basic cause of almost all faulty relationships arrives at something someone did to hurt the other or something someone did not do to help the other: THE SENSE OF PERSONAL DOERSHIP. And the relationship can work smoothly only if there is a total acceptance that, in the words of the Buddha, "Events happen, deeds are done, but there is no individual doer of any deed"."
