We are excited to launch our 2026 public education series with: The Risks of DIY Body Modification. This open education session, hosted by Reflection Room, will be led by our education team alongside respected guest artists from other studios. It will focus on the public health implications, permanent aesthetic, and psychosocial risks of home tattooing and piercing in minors.
With the rise in DIY work, we’re seeing increased concern around preventable, permanent harm in young people. This session will center on harm reduction and how to have open, honest conversations with our young adults about body modification. We will wrap up with an open dialogue to answer any questions parents, guardians, and minors might have.
There will no be a hard age restriction for minor attendees, but we ask that parents/guardians restrict their minor guests to those that are able to sit through a 1.5-2 hr event and meaningful understand and/or engage with the subject matter.
