One of the most common things I see with my chronic illness clients is this constant go-go-go energy. They can’t sit still, can’t slow down and find it incredibly hard to practice any form of stillness.
If this is you, please know it’s incredibly normal! When our bodies have been operating in survival mode (on high alert) for long periods of time it can become more challenging for our mind and body to relearn that it’s safe to relax.
The good news is - it is possible! We often start with micro moments instead of trying to sit for a long practice too soon.
Micro moments can look like a a couple slow breaths in the morning, pausing to slow down like in the video, or even remembering to leave your phone in the other room for less distractions.
Little steps add up quick! It may feel small but the more you practice the more your body can relearn that slowness is healing too.
