Morning Prayer…

I walked outside to find you peeking up through the trees in my neighborhood. A trusted friend to greet me every morning even when I don’t show up you’re there. Today I walked outside to greet you and this is what I see…

Yesterday I sat with grief.
She crashed in at first,
then in slow waves.
I know you’re here with me
Even though your physical body is not.
It doesn’t change my feeling of sadness
And the bond we weaved in the short amount of time we were together.

The sky is the limit now my friend, soar above the clouds. Yesterday they were heavy, today they float away as the sun rises on a new day.

I’ll listen to hear you whisper
I’ll keep watch on the sky
I’ll be still to feel you near and watch with my third eye.
