As the American Heart Association Woman of Impact Campaign officially came to a close on April 25th, I want to take a moment to sincerely thank every single person who supported, donated, shared resources, attended events, encouraged me, and helped amplify this mission.

While I did not take home the title, I truly believe every loss is not a loss. My community gained. We started this campaign with one goal in mind: to educate our community about heart disease, prevention, and the importance of heart health — and together, we accomplished exactly that.

Because of this journey, more conversations are happening, more people are informed, and more lives can be impacted through awareness and resources. That means more to me than any title ever could.

I’m also incredibly honored to share that I’ve joined the AHA Circle of Red and have accepted an appointment to serve on the AHA Executive Leadership Team. I look forward to continuing this work and pushing even more education, advocacy, and resources into the communities that need it most.

Congratulations to Denetria Neff-Fields on being named Capital Area Woman of Impact 2026! Your dedication and leadership are inspiring, and I’m excited to continue working alongside so many amazing advocates making a difference.
