The Summer Solstice is more than the longest day of the year, it’s a sacred pause.

For thousands of years, cultures around the world have marked the solstice as a time of reflection, gratitude, and connection to the rhythms of nature. As the sun reaches its peak, we're invited to do the same: to slow down, take stock, and honor where we are in our journey.

One tradition practiced on the solstice is completing 108 Sun Salutations. In yogic philosophy, 108 is considered a sacred number that symbolizes wholeness and the connection between the individual and the universe. It is also said that 108 energy channels, or nadis, converge at the heart center, making this practice an opportunity to clear distractions and reconnect with what matters most.

Beyond the symbolism, the steady rhythm of breath and movement can help regulate the nervous system, cultivate presence, and create a sense of grounding in an often fast-moving world.

The solstice reminds us that growth doesn't always come from doing more. Sometimes it comes from pausing long enough to notice the light already present within and around us.

The summer solstice invites us to shine fully and unapologetically.

Don't forget to join us for our Summer Solstice celebration this Sunday at 8:30am. As we honor the longest day of the year, we'll slow down, become present, and explore the heart of Surya Namaskar through its mythology, intention, and movement.

Together, we'll complete 108 Sun Salutations not as a race, but as a collective practice of breath, presence, and community. The morning will conclude with a deeply restorative Yoga Nidra, leaving you grounded, renewed, and connected.

Join us at OmGrown for a transformative two-hour deep dive into the heart of the Sun Salutation. As we honor the longest day of the year, we will explore the rich mythology and ancient purpose behind *Surya Namaskar*, breaking down the each pose, its intention and energy to deepen your individual practice.
Following our exploration, we will move together in a collective flow, completing 108 Sun Salutations to harness the potent, vibrant energy of the solstice. We end with a delightful yoga nidra.

This is an invitation to move, breathe, and ignite your inner fire in community. All levels are welcome to participate in this meditative, rhythmic celebration of light.

This all-levels class blends the energizing qualities of Yang with the restorative nature of Yin.
