Everyone says they want “neotrad”… until I ask what that actually means and we both just stare at each other for a second.
Here’s the reality:
Neotraditional tattooing isn’t one look. It’s a spectrum.
It pulls from traditional tattoos (bold lines, strong color), then goes off and does its own thing.
Think:
• Art Nouveau flow and softness
• Art Deco structure and geometry
• Nature-heavy imagery (florals, animals, insects)
• Mixed line weights + controlled detail
Same roots… completely different personality depending on the artist.
That’s why copying a random Pinterest tattoo usually falls flat.
You’re not picking a design — you’re stepping into a style language.
My approach?
Build something that fits your body, your story, and still looks right 10 years from now.
Not just “neotrad.”
Something that actually feels like you.
