On September 10th, I’ll be sitting down with Emmy Award-winning journalist and storyteller Stephon Di**le, Dr. Vonnya Pettigrew of Root Branch Media, filmmaker and publisher Nikiea Redmond, and Lisa Snowden of The Baltimore Beat for a full-circle conversation about storytelling, who gets to shape the narrative, and what happens when people have the power to tell their own stories.

🌎 Communities from across the Southeast gathered in Atlanta for the 4th Annual Southeast Environmental Justice Summit, hosted by Harambee House, Citizens for Environmental Justice.

Centered around this year’s theme, Solidarity, Support, and Solutions, the summit brought together community leaders, organizers, advocates, and residents working together to strengthen environmental justice across the region.

🤝 Founded by Dr. Mildred McClain, Executive Director, Founder of Harambee House, Citizens for Environmental Justice, and Harvard University Fellow, the organization has spent decades building community power and convening leaders across the Southeast to advance regional collaboration.

🎥 This documentary short offers a glimpse into the gathering, capturing the conversations, culture, and people behind the work.

Thank you to Dr. McClain and the entire Harambee House team for welcoming Mova Nature Global to document this important convening.
