My blog was described by the Runner's Blog Network as one of the Top 10 Running Blogs of October as "Lauren, the female blogger behind Breathe Deeply and Smile writes an incredibly compelling blog. If her blog was a cocktail it would be 3 parts training, 2 parts chef, 1 part life, with a dash of introspection thrown in to round it out. As you read Lauren’s blog, you get the sense that you’re right there with her as she makes key decisions about marathoning, cooking, career moves, or anything else that comes her way. "

It's Baltimore Running Festival race week. πŸƒβ€β™€οΈπŸ‚ Whether you're toeing the line at the Baltimore Running Festival or chasing a goal at another fall race, it is all cominf together.I'm so proud of the hard work the Bmore Running πŸ€ marathon training group has poured in over these past four months β€” the early mornings, the long runs, the showing up again and again β€” and so grateful to be part of their journey πŸ’™

(Pssssst, come train with us or maintain your running in our winter group starting in December/January)

Trust your training, soak up the nerves, and remember why you started. You've done the work β€” now go enjoy it. 🧑 Who's racing this weekend? πŸ‘‡

Long run done. Now the important part. πŸ¦€

Every Saturday route in this city secretly ends at one of three places: coffee at Cool Beans , a smoothie from Pure Raw Juice when it's extra hot out, or a quick THB bagel order when the mileage earns it (JK It always earns it.)

The run is the workout- post run food is what I look forward to (coffee is always included!)

Since Bmore Running πŸ€ is Locust Point-based, luckily all three of these spots are super close by so I can refuel & start my recovery quickly.

Where do you land after a long run? Drop your spot below β€” always looking for a new finish line. πŸ‘‡

Do not disturb. πŸŒŠβ˜€οΈ Swapping early alarms and mileage goals for a few slow days in Cape May as a belated vacation summer backβ€” just sand, salt air, and minimal plans. Everyone (even runners!) need to power down sometimes.

What's your favorite way to fully switch off? πŸ‘‡

This and ignoring everybody. πŸ˜‚πŸ™…β€β™€οΈ It's just one of those weeks where I need to put myself first β€” a quiet run, an iced coffee, cat snuggles, and my phone on DND. As an OT, I promise rest is part of the workπŸ‘

What's your version of "this and ignoring everybody" this week? πŸ‘‡

When you're marathon training in August and your run turns into one giant sweat puddle. 😭πŸ₯΅ Summer long runs are not for the weak β€” who else is out here surviving the humidity? πŸ‘‡

Ran 11 miles on Saturday so I know I can finish the Broad Street Run in a couple weeks even tho I'm feeling out of shape πŸ˜‚ Thank goodness for the training group for ensuring I get some miles in together πŸ™Œ

Who else is ready for ?

Nothing feels better than a beautiful morning, post run vibes and my iced coffee (shout out to ) ,amiright???

Spring miles just hit different πŸŒΈπŸƒβ€β™€οΈ As the pollen kicks up and temps rise, here are my running must-haves to stay feeling GOOD:

πŸ’§ Water bottle + electrolytes (loving my chews lately)
β˜€οΈ Sunscreen (don’t skip it!) shown here doesn't irritate my eyes
🎧 wireless OpenRun headphones for the vibes
πŸ•ΆοΈ Sunglasses to block the glare and protect my eyes (usually )

You can save $5 with my coupon code on Shokz headphones (spring sale is still going on through 4/7) with code BREATHEDEEP πŸ‘

Stay hydrated, protect your skin, and enjoy those sunny runs 🌞✨

Sure DC blossoms are pretty but it's so crowded! Did ya know we've got our own cherry blossoms right here in Baltimore?!?!?

These were planted in honor of George Washington's birthday (go check out the Fort to learn more πŸ‘€) I was able to stop & see cherry blossoms 🌸 in peak bloom at NPS Fort McHenry on the last mile on my run yesterday.

Beautiful blooms and less crowds-check them out while they're at their peak!

🌸

Have you been to see the cherry blossoms yet?
