We’re excited to share this story from The Johns Hopkins Magazine highlighting Abby Markoe and Baltimore SquashWise!

Ten years ago, SquashWise was honored with the 2016 Henrietta Lacks Memorial Award in collaboration with Johns Hopkins. What began with a vision to bring squash and education together for Baltimore City students has grown into a program creating opportunities and supporting young people through mentorship, academic support, and more.

We're excited to announce Muevetón + BabyFest 5K and Health & Fitness Expo as the winner of the 2026 Henrietta Lacks Memorial Award! 🏆

Led by Friends of Patterson Park and Johns Hopkins Centro SOL, this free, bilingual initiative is helping improve health and wellness for Baltimore's Latino and immigrant communities through fitness, health education, and community resources. 💙
