Want to know how your teen is actually doing this summer? ☀️ It starts with asking the right questions. Instead of the usual "How was your day?", try shifting to questions that invite reflection, emotional safety, and genuine connection.

Last week, the Eastern Shore PRP group, (Andre Henry, Thomas Ballard, and Roshonda Goodman) spent the day in Ocean City, MD with youth participants during a structured community outing focused on socialization skills and impulse management.

The group participated in a bike ride along the Ocean City area, using the time for intentional conversation around calming techniques and positive coping strategies. Later, they shared a meal at a local restaurant, where everyday interactions supported natural opportunities for skill-building in a real-world setting.

This type of community engagement reflects ongoing efforts to create structured, meaningful experiences that support learning and connection outside of traditional environments.

Being a parent is an incredible journey, but you were never meant to carry every single responsibility, emotion, and challenge completely on your own. 🎒❤️

Taking care of your children starts with taking care of yourself—and that means building a support system.

A strong support system doesn't have to be massive. It can look like:

• A trusted friend you can vent to. 🗣️
• Family members who step in when things feel overwhelming.
• Community groups or safe, judgment-free spaces.
• A therapist or mental health professional. 🧠

Give yourself permission to lean on others. You deserve the same care and encouragement that you give out every day. 🫶

And remember, we are always here to support your wellness journey.

Safe spaces are so much more than a physical location. 🏳️‍🌈✨ They are found in the conversations, relationships, and communities where you can completely let your guard down and just be you. For the LGBTQ+ community, having these affirming spaces can truly change the game for mental health.

A true safe space gives you room to:
1️⃣ Express yourself openly without masking.
2️⃣ Feel genuinely seen and respected.
3️⃣ Build deep, meaningful connections.
4️⃣ Heal and grow at your own pace.
