For many adults, the morning is the hardest part of the day.

Whether it's stiff joints, pain with buttons and zippers, difficulty gripping a toothbrush, or opening a jar, arthritis can make tasks that used to take minutes feel exhausting before the day even starts.

Our caregivers help with the parts of the day that have become harder: bathing and dressing, meal preparation, light housekeeping, errands, and just having someone steady nearby.

It's about making the day feel more manageable.

Arthritis Awareness Month is this month, and it's a good reminder that pain is not something to push through alone.

One of the things we hear most often from families:

"I didn't sign up to be the one managing all of this."

And they're right. Most people don't. A parent's needs change, a discharge happens, a diagnosis arrives, and suddenly someone in the family is scheduling appointments, managing medications, fielding calls from doctors, and trying to hold it all together.

We work alongside families like that every day. We're not there to take over, but to take some of it off their plate.

Because you should be able to be a daughter, a son, or a partner and not just a coordinator.

You can safely, legally, and for free drop off unused medications at a local collection site. Find a drop-off site near you: dea.gov/takebackday
