Research consistently shows that when children learn how to regulate their emotions, they’re more likely to build stronger social relationships, experience less anxiety, perform better academically, and engage in fewer challenging behaviors.

That’s why teaching emotion regulation strategies is such an important part of ABA support. Simple, intentional tools can make a big difference, including:
• Movement breaks (walking, jumping, swinging)
• Breathing strategies (belly breaths, pinwheels, race-track breathing)
• Music for calming or re-energizing
• Sensory breaks like heavy work, squeezes, or messy play
