Our new website is live, and it finally feels like us.

Over the past year, Apotheosis has grown. We moved into a larger space, welcomed new people to the team, and kept building the kind of primary care we would want for our own family. Our old website no longer showed that very well.

The new site gives you a clearer way to meet the people behind Apotheosis, understand how membership works and what it costs, look inside the practice, explore services such as IV iron, and find practical healthcare information in the Learn section.

Something we are seeing a striking increase in lately: POTS.

POTS, or Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome, is a disorder of the autonomic nervous system. Simply standing can cause a significant increase in heart rate along with dizziness, palpitations, fatigue, brain fog, exercise intolerance, nausea, and sometimes near-fainting.

POTS isn't new, but we're seeing far more patients with POTS and POTS-like symptoms than we used to, often following a viral illness.

A new review published this week in JAMA highlights just how significant this can be. About 30–40% of POTS cases begin following an infection, including COVID-19, Epstein-Barr virus, and influenza.

Even more striking: the median delay from symptom onset to diagnosis is still 24 months.

That means many people spend years knowing something is wrong while routine testing may look relatively normal, sometimes being told they're simply dehydrated, deconditioned, or anxious.

The good news is that awareness is improving. POTS can be evaluated, other causes can be ruled out, and treatment can be individualized.

If standing makes your heart race, leaves you unusually lightheaded or exhausted, or you've simply felt distinctly different since an infection, it's worth bringing up with your healthcare provider.

We are THRILLED to have Adrianna join us at Apotheosis! She will be managing the reception area greeting patients when they arrive, assisting with triage & routing of patient requests/routine messages, handling our scheduling, and ensuring Alley's plants don't die with her green thumb! :)

Healthcare is usually measured in billing codes, claims, visit volume, and productivity. Those numbers may matter to the system, but they are not what patients experience. We measure what actually matters: how quickly you can be seen, how long we spend with you, how fast we respond, and how little time you spend waiting.

Big, exciting news for Maine!

Starting July 1, 2026, Maine’s Universal Immunization Program is expanding to include all adults ages 19–64, including those who are uninsured, underinsured, or enrolled in MaineCare.

This is a major step forward for access to care and public health.

Adult vaccines will be available at no cost, with more access points across communities and fewer financial barriers to getting protected. The program also creates a simpler, more streamlined system for providers.

We are excited for the opportunity to be able to provide vaccines for our patients this Fall!
