We didn't have anything pulled out for dinner tonight and my husband offered to grab Culver's. 🍔

But we always have ground beef on hand, and it defrosts fast....so Big Mac bowls it is.

After having a more "fun" lunch earlier this week, having another cheaty meal so soon didn't feel supportive to our goals. This felt like an easy compromise.

And honestly, I like to save my Culver's nights for when I'm truly craving a cheese curd.

Real-life wellness doesn't have to be complicated if you take it one choice at a time.

Perimenopause changed my body, even when I was doing everything "right."

So I stopped chasing a number on a scale and started choosing reasons that actually natter: strength, energy, mobility, and being able to carry my own kayak.

This is why I work out now.

These were my lunch today...and it's not often you'll hear a wellness coach say this is ok 🤷‍♀️

My day wasn't ruined.
My progress wasn't ruined.
My wellness isn't falling apart.

In fact, I have been feeling better than ever.

I had a healthy breakfast, dentist appointments, prioritized Buddy's walk, decided to go kayaking, and had a turkey BLT with a side of fruit for dinner.

My day wasn't perfect, but it was very balanced.
Not every day will look like a difficult workout and perfectly hit macros.

A "cheaty" meal or a skipped workout doesn't erase my consistency or my progress.

Real-life wellness isn't about perfection.
Today was a good day.

Lately I've caught myself saying, "I just need to get through this day...this week...this month." And the other day, in a moment of downtime, it hit me. I've been wishing away the very life I once wished for.

The past week has been filled with the usual "annoying adulting": laundry, dishes, paperwork, errands. The stuff that feels endless and unglamorous. The stuff that pushes other stuff to the back burner.

But I realized that those little tasks are actually clearing space for the moments that make my life so worth living.

Moments like showing my cousin how to kayak for the very first time.
Enjoying fresh air and movement that is fun!
Sharing a simple veggie plate and hummus, paired with some homemade naan bread.

These are the things that remind me why the adulting matters.
These are the glass moments...the ones I don't want to miss.
My course, missing my self-imposed deadine....its rubber. It will bounce back when I have the bandwidth to pick it up.

The adulting isn't the enemy. It is the thing making room for joy and connection.

My message of the day is this:
Stop wishing life away. Start noticing the parts of it you once wished for."

My husband has been asking to get on my schedule for a couple of weeks now. Tonight was finally his appointment at the home office.
Buddy is my little apprentice and supervised the whole thing.
My husband's top two takeaways:
•"You really get into all the nooks and crannies." (Neck & shoulder work)
•"The face has a lot of muscles." (As I released the tension in his jaw and forehead)
He's not wrong.
He got up, stretched and said "5 stars" as he left the room.

One of the easiest ways to support your gut and overall wellness is plant diversity. Last week I ate 23 different plants for the 30 plants a week challenge. I'm definitely going to try to beat that this week.
I just got home from grocery shopping and I picked up a few things I don't usually buy to help me reach 30.

I learned along my own wellness journey that "diet" doesn't have to mean restriction o starvation.
These days I focus on adding in more of the nourishing options, and naturally, some of the less supportive choices fall away om their own.

That's why I'm having so much fun with the 30 plants a week challenge my husband and I are doing together.
So far I'm at 23 (not counting seasonings), and I've got 2 days to find 7 more...time to get creative🤔
