And just like that… Sol Canvas Studio is officially TWO YEARS OLD. 🥹☀️🧡
❗️warning, long post ahead❗️
Now that today is over, the shop is quiet, and we finally have a second to actually take it all in… we really don’t even know how to explain how much today meant to us.
Two years ago, this was just a dream we decided to take a chance on.
We didn’t have some perfect business plan. We didn’t know exactly what we were doing or what this place would eventually become. We just knew that we loved tattooing, we wanted something of our own, and we wanted to build a place that felt different. A place that felt comfortable, welcoming, a little chaotic 😂 and most importantly, like us.
And somehow, two years later, we’re still here.
Actually… we’re not just still here.
We’ve grown.
We’ve grown as artists, as business owners, as a couple, and as people. We’ve learned some things the easy way and a whole lot of things the hard way. 😂 We’ve had days where we questioned everything and days where we looked around the shop and couldn’t believe that this little life we dreamed about was actually ours.
Running a business together while raising a family and trying to keep up with regular life isn’t always pretty. There have been long nights, stressful conversations, sacrifices nobody sees, mistakes, changes, growing pains, and plenty of “what the hell are we doing?” moments.
But there have also been moments like today.
Watching people walk through those doors to celebrate something that started as our little dream is a feeling we’ll never be able to fully explain.
Some of you have been with us from the very beginning. Some of you found us somewhere along the way. Some of you walked through our doors for the very first time today.
And every single one of you has played a part in this.
You’ve trusted us with memorials, milestones, first tattoos, coverups, silly tattoos, deeply meaningful tattoos and everything in between. You’ve shared our posts, told your friends about us, shown up to our events, supported our artists, sat in our chairs and continued coming back.
You’ve allowed us to make a living doing something we genuinely love.
And because of that, our kids get to grow up watching their parents chase something they dreamed about and build it together from the ground up.
That might be the part that means the most to us.
Sol Canvas has become so much more than four walls and some tattoo chairs. It has become our second home. It has brought people into our lives that we never would have met otherwise. It’s given other artists a place to make something of themselves. It has challenged us, humbled us, changed us and given us some of the best memories.
We are so unbelievably proud of what we have built together.
But we also know damn well that we didn’t build it alone.
So from Kasey and me, thank you.
Thank you for trusting us.
Thank you for supporting our family.
Thank you for supporting our artists.
Thank you for believing in this little shop.
Thank you for showing up today.
And thank you for giving us the opportunity to say something that once felt so far away…
Sol Canvas Studio has officially been in business for TWO YEARS. 🥹🧡
Today was exhausting, chaotic, emotional, amazing and everything an anniversary at Sol Canvas should be. 😂
We wouldn’t trade it for anything.
Here’s to everything we survived, everything we’ve learned, everything we’ve built, and everything that’s still to come.
Year three… we’re coming for you. ☀️
With all our love and gratitude,
Brittany & Kasey
Happy 2nd Birthday, Sol Canvas Studio. 🧡
