We are Flutterby Angels Therapy Ranch, a now fully recognized 501.c3 non-profit entity. Founded by Deborah Denney. Before we were an official organization it started with her love for horses, taking in and caring for them when others were unable to. From there it branched into a dream to be able to share these amazing creatures with people who could benefit most from their unique abilites. Our gra
ssroots organization is still in development. We are establishing ourselves in the aim to be able to provide equine assisted therapy to children with life threatening illnesses. Utilizing community support so that it is accessible to those most in need, without any barrier by cost. There are multiple studies that show equine therapy can be beneficial in alleviating stress and depression, while providing a very pleasant environment for the family as well as the child. We understand the deep grief and emotional stress caused by watching your child suffer, or losing them to illness. Deborah Denney, our founder, personally knows this pain first hand having sadly lost a child, taken from her way too young. It is our deepest wish to be able to give support to the families of those suffering this pain. As well as provide a resource for additional options that we hope may translate into increased recovery rates, reducing the number of parents and families that have to endure the heartache of losing a child. At the very least, we want to be there to provide them with amazing life experiences and lend a support system during their difficult times. Some of the activities that we plan to provide for children during treatment include but are not limited to, experiencing all levels of equine care by helping with the daily essential tasks of feeding and grooming their horse as well as riding. This will lead to learning how to relate to and form a deepening bond with their horse during the term of therapy. If they are unfamiliar with riding activities we will have several experienced staff available to provide lessons on proper techniques, and to ensure safety. For those more advanced we will work to expand their abilities as well as cater to any special types of riding such as jumping, barrel racing, and endurance, provided they are healthy enough for this level of equine activity. For those that are unable to travel we do have miniature horses that will be available to be taken to the children’s residence or hospital, if allowed, so they may still have the opportunity to benefit through human animal interaction (HIA) with the horses. We plan to host special events for the public which may include catering, face painting, costumed character actors for the children, as well as other fun light hearted activities to involve the community and familiarize them with what we offer. This will also allow us to cater our services to the needs of each prospective family by getting to know them through shared experience, and on a more personal level. Currently we are still in the very beginnings of building the foundation for our organization, driven to persevere with passion and belief in our mission. We are in the process of improving and updating our facilities, adding much needed fencing to the property to give the horses more grazing and running space. We need to build up our horses and give them the attention they deserve so they may in turn help our clients giving hope, strength and healing. All community support and donations will be going directly to the care and well-being of our most beloved animals, and building the infrastructure to be able to offer therapy to as many children and families as possible. Truly non-profit, all proceeds will be used to directly invest in the goal of being able to bring our services to those most in need.
