It's Thankful Thursday! Heartfelt congratulations to Justine Bonarigo for absolutely crushing her first marathon AND shattering her fundraising goal for Crossroads House!

When Justine began training, she set out to raise $1,000 in support of our mission. Thanks to her determination, generosity, and the incredible support of her family and friends, she crossed the finish line having raised an astonishing $6,250 for Crossroads House! 🎉

Running 26.2 miles is no small accomplishment—but doing it while championing comfort, dignity, and compassionate care for our residents and families makes it even more inspiring.

Tomorrow is the BIG DAY!
With immense gratitude, we wish the best of luck to Justine who is running her first marathon to support Crossroads House 🧡

"Over the past seven months, volunteering at Crossroads House has given me a sense of peace and purpose I didn’t realize I was missing. After losing my father to cancer this past July, I felt a deep need to channel my grief into something meaningful—and I found that within these walls.
Every person I’ve met here—volunteers, staff, residents, and their families—has changed me for the better. Crossroads House provides compassionate, dignified care during life’s most difficult moments, relying on the generosity of the community to continue its work.
On May 24, 2026, I will be running my first full marathon at the Buffalo Marathon. As someone who was never much of a runner, this journey is deeply personal. I’m dedicating this run to support Crossroads House and humbly ask for your consideration in making a donation, big or small.
When mile 26 feels out of reach, I’ll remind myself that at our core, humanity is good—and that we are all in this life together. I know that belief will carry me forward.

Yesterday, we welcomed our 700th resident into Crossroads House, their final home. It was a moment that felt both humbling and extraordinary.

Seven hundred individuals. Seven hundred families. Seven hundred journeys met with dignity, compassion, comfort, and love during one of life’s most sacred moments. When we pause to truly reflect on that number, it is overwhelming. Each number represents a life lived, stories shared, tears shed, hands held, and countless moments of peace made possible because Crossroads House was here when they needed us most.

Milestones like this do not happen alone. They are built one act of kindness, one hour of volunteering, one prayer, and one donation at a time.

Every gift over the years has helped create a place where families can focus on being together instead of worrying about care. Hundreds of residents have been able to spend their final days surrounded by compassion in a true home environment, completely free of charge to those we serve.

As we reflect on this incredible milestone, we are filled with gratitude for every person who has walked alongside us on this journey. If you have already made your annual gift, thank you for believing in our mission, and for helping make Crossroads House a place of comfort, dignity, and love for 700 beautiful souls and their families.

Mother’s Day holds many emotions 💗💔🤍

Today, we celebrate the incredible love, strength, support, and comfort that mothers bring into our lives. We also recognize that for many, this day carries a quiet grief for moms who are no longer with us, whether their absence is recent or years old.

At Crossroads House, we have the privilege of witnessing the lasting impact of a mother’s love. The stories shared, the hands held, the memories cherished — they remind us that love does not end when someone is gone.

Today, we hold space for each of you:
💐 Those celebrating with their mothers
💐 Those missing their mothers deeply
💐 Mothers grieving children
💐 Those longing to become mothers
