Water safety is a job for everyone! In Louisiana, drowning is one of the leading causes of injury-related death for children under 15.

Parents and caregivers can take action by following these simple steps:
• Having a “Water Watcher” to supervise children when they are around water
• Teaching their children how to swim
• Installing barriers around bodies of water near their home
• Using U.S. Coast Guard-approved life jackets
• Taking a CPR training class
