A strong healthcare workforce is essential to growing Louisiana’s economy and attracting new business investment.

Yesterday, Northshore healthcare leaders gathered at the Northshore Business Council to discuss partnerships supported by the Louisiana Department of Health’s HERO Fund.

One grant will help Northshore Technical Community College launch a new Patient Navigator program, training up to 60 students to help patients access and coordinate care while allowing nurses to focus on bedside care.

Congratulations to NTCC and its regional healthcare partners: Lakeview Hospital, North Oaks Health, Ochsner Health, Our Lady of the Angels Hospital, Slidell Memorial Hospital, and St. Tammany Health System!

Congratulations to LSU Health New Orleans and its healthcare partners on receiving HERO Fund support through the Louisiana Department of Health!

Through partnerships with LCMC Health and St. Charles Parish Hospital, this investment will support speech-language pathology students as they prepare for careers serving patients with communication and swallowing challenges. The program will help strengthen Louisiana’s healthcare workforce and expand access to these important services.
