How Cacao Supports Emotional Openness - Part 1
Cacao contains beneficial neurotransmitters, neuromodulators, and mineral compounds that work with the body’s existing pathways related to mood, circulation, emotional regulation, and nervous system balance. Rather than creating an abrupt spike of stimulation, cacao tends to feel grounding, uplifting, and emotionally supportive at the same time.

Part of this comes from cacao’s influence on compounds connected to the body’s own pathways for pleasure and emotional well-being. A study was recently conducted through a focused research initiative with Dr. Francisco Cidral in Las Vegas, exploring how sound, frequency, and vibration support the nervous system. From these research days, 30 case studies are being developed to better understand how vibroacoustic experiences may support relaxation and nervous system regulation.

Mental Health Awareness Month offers a meaningful reminder to pause and consider how we care for the mind each day.

The health of the mind is closely connected to the state of the nervous system. When life moves quickly and stress accumulates, the body can remain in a heightened state of alert. Over time, this can affect sleep, focus, mood, and our overall sense of balance. Creating moments throughout the day to slow down and settle allows the nervous system to shift out of that constant activation and return to a more regulated state.

Often, it is the simplest practices that create the greatest change. Slowing the breath, stepping away from screens, spending a few quiet minutes in stillness, or simply bringing awareness back to the body can help restore a sense of calm and clarity. These small pauses give the mind space to soften and the body permission to relax.
