Ashley Jungjohan is a Certified Professional Midwife (CPM) and Licensed Midwife (LM). She is trained in newborn resuscitation. (NRP), basic life support (BLS), trauma-informed care, birth emergency skills, resolving shoulder dystocia, spinning babies, and most recently, functional maternity care.
She began caring for women and babies in 2018 as a birth and postpartum doula and started her midwifery studies with Mercy in Action College of Midwifery in 2020. Ashley graduated from Mercy in Action College of Midwifery with her Bachelor of Science in Midwifery in 2023. After graduation, she continued as a staff midwife at West Michigan Midwifery, a practice near Grand Rapids, MI, for a year and opened her practice in 2025. Ashley continues to stay involved in education as a Clinical Administrative Assistant and Teaching Faculty with Mercy in Action College of Midwifery, She believes in improving maternal and newborn birth outcomes on a local, regional, and global scale and is a Master Trainer in Helping Babies Breathe and Helping Mother Survive.
Ashley is married to John, and together, they have five children whom they have homeschooled. She enjoys nature walks, camping, beach trips, theater, and spending time with friends and family.
Charis Fitzpatrick is a Senior Student Midwife who has completed her didactic training at Mercy In Action College of Midwifery and is currently finishing her final apprenticeship requirements to graduate with her BSM. She is certified in NRP and CPR/BLS and is the owner of Touch of Grace Birth and Bodywork, bringing 13 years of experience as a Licensed Massage Therapist while offering placenta encapsulation.
Charis has worked as a birth assistant and clinical aid, serving hundreds of families across Michigan. She is passionate about expanding access to midwifery care in Michigan and advocating for safe and affordable options for all families.
