Age can change you unless you change the way you age!!

Exercise is a natural mood booster and stress reliever in addition to its many benefits. Regular exercise mitigates the effects of aging and helps you cope with life in general.

⚡️Exercise lowers stress hormones such as cortisol and adrenaline. It eases anxiety and depression naturally while boosting self-esteem and confidence.

⚡️ Exercise triggers the production of neurochemical endorphins, endocannabinoids, and neurotransmitters that reduce pain and promote contentment.

⚡️Sharpens memory and cognition by increasing blood flow in the brain. This releases proteins like brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF). This protein stimulates new brain cell growth.

On let's talk about the lack of male presence in the classroom, and it is a problem. According to the MEA, men make up less than 24% of teachers in Michigan, and the Michigan Department of Education’s latest Educator Workforce Data Report shows they make up just 11% of teachers in the elementary grades.

MEN MATTER IN THE CLASSROOM

There are many factors that have contributed to this decline in male teachers:

📌 Teachers don't get paid enough
📌 High burnout and stress rate
📌 Perception of women's work

We know the benefits of child development when children are raised by both parents. This absolutely carries into education.

You can’t be blamed for that assumption, as preK-12 education is one of the least gender-diverse professions around....

Yale studies show that stress negatively affects heart health: https://www.yalemedicine.org/news/stress-affects-your-heart.

Researchers say:

❗️Chronic stress raises the risk of heart disease, with studies showing highly stressed individuals are over 2.5 times more likely to experience a heart attack.

🔴 Stress causes constriction of blood vessels, elevated blood pressure, and increased heart rate. It can also make blood "stickier," increasing the risk of clots.

💥Chronic stress activates immune responses that increase inflammation, promoting the buildup of plaque in arteries (atherosclerosis).

💔 Extreme stress can cause temporary, severe heart muscle weakness (takotsubo cardiomyopathy), producing symptoms mimicking a heart attack. AKA: Broken Heart Syndrome

🚭 Stress often leads to unhealthy coping behaviors, including smoking, excessive drinking, poor diet, and lack of exercise, which in turn damage the heart.

Stress can cause inflammation and damage the heart. Yale experts recommend ways to manage that stress and keep your heart healthy.
