Hey friends 💛

I know Bear Lake Botanicals has been pretty quiet the last few months, and I wanted to finally share a little life update.

Truthfully, I hit a point of complete burnout after last summer. Between events, traveling, coordinating, creating, working, and constantly being “on,” I realized I needed to slow down and focus on my health and stress levels, and just getting myself back to a healthier place mentally and physically. I took what I thought would be a short winter break to recharge… but life had other plans.

At the same time, we’ve started a huge new chapter behind the scenes. Bear Lake Botanicals is in the process of moving home base locations, which means my entire apothecary has slowly been getting packed up piece by piece. Because of that, I won’t be doing craft shows this summer or taking on any vendor coordinator positions for events this year including the annual Winter Solstice event at Northern Natural in December. Right now my focus is fully on getting our current home ready to sell, while also building a new home that we can grow from long term.

This also means Bear Lake Botanicals will eventually be rooted in a new town-Kaleva, just a town over from Bear Lake. And with that change will likely come a future business name change and fresh branding somewhere down the road once the new home, gardens, and apothecary space are fully established.

As bittersweet and scary as change can be, it also feels really right. I think sometimes growth asks us to step back, reset, and rebuild slower and more intentionally. Bear Lake Botanicals isn’t disappearing, just being transplanted somewhere new. 🌱 😉

Thank you to everyone who has supported me through every season of this journey. I truly appreciate the patience, kindness, and continued love more than you know. I’m excited to see what grows next when the time is right 🤎

I would like to extend a sincere shout out to a local business based in Brethren Dessert by Desarmeaux for creating these beautiful cupcakes for my sister’s college graduation party today in Detroit. They were a wonderful addition and everyone LOVED them!

XL congratulations to my sister, Haylee Rouser, on graduating college. I am incredibly proud of you and the amazing woman that you are and becoming. A special thank you to Debbie Anderson Schlehuber and family for graciously hosting such a meaningful celebration. It was a pleasure meeting Haylee’s second family to celebrate this incredible milestone in her life. Thank you! 😊

My heart is so full after this Winter Solstice gathering. Thank you to everyone who came out to celebrate the turning of the wheel, your presence, warmth, and open hearts are what made this night so special. 🌙🔥🌀

A huge thank you to everyone who helped set up, prepare, decorate, plan, and support this event in any way, from the big lifts to the quiet behind the scenes moments. These gatherings don’t happen without community hands, and I’m endlessly grateful for yours.

To our talented vendors, musicians, and flow artists: thank you for sharing your gifts, your craft, and your energy. You brought life, rhythm, and magic into the space and helped create something truly memorable.

Deep gratitude to Northern Natural Cider House & Winery for opening your doors and space to us and allowing this rooted, community centered solstice to take place. This space holds such good energy, and we always love to gather here.

And to Jesse Ray Ketchum thank you for putting up with my wild event ideas, believing in the vision, and helping every step of the way from start to finish. I literally couldn’t do this without you.

Lastly, to everyone who dressed the part the furs, crowns, and earthy magic, you all brought the solstice to life in the most beautiful way. It truly made the night feel ancient, intentional, and extra special.

Thank you all for welcoming the dark, honoring the light, and celebrating together. Until we gather again. Happy Winter Solstice ✨🌲

Please feel free to add any of your solstice photos to the comments for the archives.

This time of year is always a whirlwind for me (as I know it is for many of us), but this season feels extra full. I’m juggling my full time job, cleaning jobs on the side, packing for vacation, cleaning our home to get it ready to sell, planning the solstice, hosting a woman’s craft day to create decorations for the solstice this Sunday, stocking up on products…gahh shall I go on?! 😆

I’m excited and grateful for everything happening… but my goodness, I’m pretty sure I’ll breathe a deep sigh of relief once I can slip back into hibernation mode.

For now though, it’s all hands on deck, bottling fire cider and making sure I’m fully stocked and ready for the Winter Solstice. 🌀✨🥱

🌸 Echinacea aka Purple Cone Flower- from the petals to the roots, the whole plant carries medicinal properties. I harvested the flowers, leaves, and roots, split and moved some to give them more space to grow outside my butterfly w**d bed. 🦋

The flower beds are starting to show off!
