One of the most important parts of my conversation with Senator Chris C***s today focused on healthcare access in Delaware and the future of St. Francis Hospital.

At United Medical ACO, we help coordinate care for more than 117,000 Delawareans, and we see firsthand how critical community-based healthcare providers are to our state.

A healthcare system where one nonprofit hospital network generates over a billion dollars in profit while another community hospital struggles to survive raises serious questions about access, sustainability, and accountability.

St. Francis Hospital serves thousands of Delaware families and remains an essential part of our healthcare infrastructure. Its success should matter to all of us.

Thank you to Senator C***s for recognizing the importance of preserving healthcare access and supporting the organizations that continue serving our communities every day.

The White Coat Means Something.

The white coat represents trust.
It represents professionalism.
It represents a physician’s commitment to patients.

Patients see that coat and believe their doctor is focused on their care and their health.

Turning the white coat into a prop for organized political demonstrations protecting institutional financial interests crosses an important line.

Delaware already has one of the most expensive healthcare systems in the United States, while independent primary care practices continue to struggle.

The debate around Senate Bill 1 should be about facts, transparency, and building a sustainable healthcare system that supports prevention and primary care.

The white coat should represent patients first.
